More than 60% of states amended their constitutions against it. I'll take actual votes over some liberal poll...
Even if the poll isn't skewed 1000 respondents, no matter where they are found, will ever be fully representative of 330 million.
Here you go. It's actually 31 states. Read it and weep... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis...al_amendments_banning_same-sex_unions_by_type
He was DEFLECTING from the FACT that 60% of Americans NOW support gay marriage and ALL attempts IN THE PAST to make it illegal have been RULED by the courts to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
You asked I provided. Your little poll certainly doesn't outweigh the millions who actually voted. My point stands, and that ruling can be challenged...
Wrong! The MAJORITY of We the People now SUPPORT gay marriage. The fundamentalist zealots have been challenging women's reproductive rights for DECADES now and FAILING. Once rights are RECOGNIZED it is IMPOSSIBLE to take them away again.
Based on a simple poll? Like I said, I'll take the votes of millions over a poll. The challenge against gay marriage would be facing a new Court, based on state's rights and the fact the Supreme Court itself said the federal government can't define marriage. That leaves the states, and no federal action to even invoke supremacy...
When the FEDERAL government RECOGNIZES gay marriage no state can VIOLATE that right! States MUST conform to Federal Constitutional Rights! There is no legal argument that enables a state to DEPRIVE anyone of their INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS.
According to what? It was an opinion that is not backed by any federal action. They can't claim supremacy if there is nothing to compare it to. Marriage isn't a Constitutional right, you'd need an amendment for that, which is actually what was happening, two more states and the amendment process could have begun to ban gay marriage the way the Founders intended. Instead gays abandoned the people and whined to the courts...
Increasingly, any argument any of the present candidates makes against another is an argument for Bloomberg. If they were all to just remain quiet right now, Sanders would be the nominee. The more they cast nervous vibes about him, the more those vibes trickle down to the 'grass roots'. That said, it certainly doesn't look right now that he would win in this typical situation where a President enjoying positive economic data and being embroiled in serious military matters gets re-elected. Almost no competitor could win under such conditions. The election looks like one that the incumbent would have to actively lose. "Loose lips sink ships", the saying goes, and the present POTUS uses his loosely and often.
Does he even understand the nature of the Party that he is a member of? Since when does the Dem Party value rationality over feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings? Hell the only reason that a mayor is a small city has gotten this far is because of his Politically Correct sexual background; as he certainly does not have the experience to even run for the presidency much less become president. So in other words Buttigieg has gotten to this state on the feeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings of the political Left rather than via rational thought processes. Somebody clue the man in . . . stat!
According to investigators, Russia managed to beat out Hillary's billion dollars with an investment of 150 thousand dollars and about 20 nerds posting on facebook. From all we can tell, Australia doesn't possess that sort of bang for the bucks capacity when it comes to influencing other nations.
I don't like Pete. I don't know what it is. I don't think I have a problem with gay people. Pete just seems like the kid in class who snitches on everyone. And he's too young. The job requires some gravitas. Maybe it's because I like Amy and Amy supposedly hates Pete.
Yeah, there's a lot more sodomy going on in Christian households in the U.S. than gay households. Gays are what? 5% of the population maybe?
Just because the people tolerate gay marriage it doesn't mean they will vote for a gay President. The main reason people support gay marriage is because they are tired of the whining.
