    Uh, no!

This whole CA governor recall and Jenner announcing she's going to run is all a sham from the CA Republican Party. I would say most CA voters know this already. We're sick and tired of celebrity personalities thinking they can run for the government when they've barely participated in voting. Of course, right-wing whackos will frame this as having something to do with her being trans, which is a lie for the minions to repeat to cloud the issues.

She could not possibly be worse than Newsom has been!!!!

I would really like to see what she comes up with for a platform though. I am automatically impressed that she chose to go G.O.P.

If anybody involved in her campaign happens to read this discussion here is a paragraph that might just be useful?

Do any RP candidates have any positions other than "Democrats Suck!"?
Oddly enough that has actually been enough for them to win elections - so i suppose Kaitlyn has a shot.

I'm so glad I don't live in Kalifornia!

That said, knowing only what I know today about Caitlyn Jenner and Gavin Newsom, if I were unfortunate enough to live in this big chunk of 'paradise-gone-wrong', I'd vote for Jenner -- without the slightest hesitation!

She is channeling voter discontent picked up on by Trump. I doubt she will win. Her administration resume is pretty thin for such a big state. I think voters are looking for more expertise than clever sound bites. I'm looking at Kevin Falconer, mayor of San Diego.

Since Trump it has gotten even worse due to teacher's unions telling the state government "how it's going to be". School will be in session when they say so.
They have Newsom over a barrel. He wants their vote harvesting operation, they want more Zoom, less face to face. They want free child care and more money. Its Newsom's call. He has zero chance of winning without their machine.
People are pretty much unhappy about feeling as if the state is ready to fall like a house of cards.

Is Caitlyn Jenner a good candidate for Gov of CA?

You mean I need to tell you that someone with zero management experience should not be put in charge of a huge organization?

Did Reagan or Schwarzenegger have public administration records? Jenner is probably relying on name recognition. I've always found it strange that people vote for Hollywood celebrities for public office.

Yes, sorry. My brain, even at my age, goes faster than my fingers. I fixed it. Thanks.

Is someone with "zero management experience" worse than someone who supposedly has LOTS of it, but who has fugged-up everything he has been "managing"...?

    Reagan did, Arnold did not.
When things were good no one cared about jobs, factories, taxes, immigration. We had plenty of prisons and cops.
Then the democrats took over mostly due to demographics.

I think many people are battle-worn after the Trump administration. His whole shtick was that he wasn't a politician so he could drain the swamp. He may have skirted by for three years but his lack of experience really showed in the handling of COVID.

I can't stand on the pulpit about CA. Our governor (IL) makes a habit of destroying everything imaginable.

I am unsure if CA voters ever look for expertise.

I think she might make a good governor. Have to admit I'm also liking it for the discomfort it will give liberals. I mean, if they don't vote for her, they're "racist" right? I'm already giggling.

But you would prefer Newsom over Jenner?

Well I don't think anyone can do worse than Trump if that is who you are referring to, but she should be judged on her politics and wisdom and both are suspect.

No, Edna, nobody was talking about Trump....

Why is it that every time someone questions the competency of the woke-Left's bigwigs, like this Newsom idiot, that their knee-jerk reaction is to drag Trump into it...?

Ah, of course... you have credentials which enable you to make these erudite pronouncements...(?)

Or, perhaps like too many of us Americans, you like what you like, and, you dislike what you dislike...? It can probably be said with accuracy that before every great civilization slid into ruin, it began to prize obsessive subjectivity over analytical objectivity.... :dual:

I can't speak for all lefties of course, but I vote for the person who will best represent my interests if elected. Their minority status is not a qualifier or disqualifier for me. Jenner has not proven herself to be qualified to run her own life, much less a state. So she wouldn't get my vote.
