~ I think we all know somebody who will not be moving to California ...

    ~ Don't forget the non-binary.
~ Correct ! Any lawyer could get a case dismissed on those grounds .

I'm not interested in talking about your January 6th nonsense or your obsession with Trump.

Making fun of you for completing about first world problems is that you don't really have anything to complain about.

Or if a particularly vindictive woman that wants to get back at you she just lies. That's the only purpose of this.

It's an idea that could only have been conceived by a crowd of people who are dumb and wacky.

This is an example of the excesses of progressivism and feminism.

Is it? Why? Why is this acceptable but a book talking of a kid having two mommies is not acceptable?

Except this is not about that - this is about exposing someone to something against thier wishes - why do you think we have film ratings?

I hope you realize that the issue I was raising in this thread wasn't about whether this is wrong or right.

I know the Left seems to have trouble understanding how anything could be wrong without the government getting involved or suing that person for money.

Why do you think it's acceptable to make the wrongdoer give the woman lots of money?

You could ask that about the Texas “Dob in a woman” abortion law. In this case the law is limiting the amount that could be awarded
    $50,000

Everyone knows that abortion law in Texas was ridiculous and absurd, even pro-life conservatives knew it. They only passed it as a legal strategy to try to circumvent the 49-year-old Supreme Court ruling. When it becomes established that the state of Texas can freely be able to enforce their own abortion policies without the interference of the federal courts, maybe they will repeal that law.

yes for a statute to be successfully used as it was designed, a prospective complainant has to actually complain. If men do not want to complain, they don't have to. Same is true for women. But at least there is a statute available providing a forum and standing to make a complaint. Nobody should be sending nudie pictures, that were not specifically soliticited and wanted. Its indecent exposure. Are you really trying to defend this practice and keep it legal?

Some men are simply buttsore when it comes to women's rights. They'll even use a gender-neutral piece of legislation as an excuse to have a whine.

Just because a piece of legislation is worded gender-neutral does not mean that it is gender-neutral, either in its intent or effects.

The Left, making up new rights. An excuse for people in underclass and victim groups to get money.

Does she have the right not be sent these obscene texts? Yes, or possibly yes.
Does she have a right to get money for that happening to her? That is a very different question.

I have been sent vagina pics. Never unsolicited though. And as long as women don't send me unsolicited t'n'a pics (especially when I'm visiting California) sueing will never cross my mind.

As a man, it would be hypocritical to not hold myself to the same standard.

I don't have a problem with this new law. I think the key word is "unsolicited". If you are sending intimate pics via text, emails or other means you should be able to prove whether they are solicited or not. You should have SMS or emails of the conversation leading up to the sending of the pics. If there is consent in that conversation it is fair game. On the flip side if you have no evidence or all your conversations were professional or non sexual then you should not be sending explicit pics. I think ultimately, like and new law, we will have to see how this plays out but it seems like a reasonable move.

Something so trivial does not belong in the courtroom. What kind of petty or emotionally fragile person would sue over this? Sure, it's low-class and stupid to send an unsolicited nude picture. But is it a big deal? No.

I don't like the law, but it's not a problem in that regard. There's an electronic paper trail in terms of whether the conversation preceding it was sexual, and if one wants to be safe just ask first and there's a record of it. It's not like date rape vs a false accusation of it where there could be two wildly different unverifiable accounts of what happened on a private date.

It would have to be a mindset completely unfamiliar to me. I've received solicited ones as well. And actually usually they didn't want a pic in return - usually a story about what I would do to them. But if I received an unsolicited ugly one from an ugly person? Um... wouldn't care. Delete. Maybe ignore. Thanks but no thanks. I mean who cares.

At least they can still intentionally give her AIDS without worrying about it.

LoL women don't need to send pics to individuals, all you have to do is go to OnlyFans or Instagram to see all of it you could in a lifetime.

In my case she wanted a pic in return (current partner, long distance r/ship). Lol.

I suspect men who send unsolicited dick pics are being masochistic.
