I think it's way too early to predict that 1/3 of Bernie supporters will vote any other way than for Hillary. Their feelings are a little raw right now, but Bernie will steer them toward Hillary and Hillary herself will triangulate Bernie's positions. Triangulation is her specialty. Then, Bernie's supporters will come to understand that Trump is only selling them a pig in a poke like his son did with condos in Mexico.
I'm a moderate that votes the person, not the party. My first choice in this mess was Bernie, but once he endorsed Mrs. Clinton I lost all respect for him. There are plenty of things I don't like about Trump, but many more that I don't like about Clinton. So I've gone to the Trump corner.

I’m a huge Bernie supporter (and no, it’s not because “I just want free s*** without working for it”). I happily voted for him in the primaries and would do so again without hesitation! However, as much as I would like to see him reform the DNC, I don’t think it’s likely (or even possible) at this point in time. If the 2016 election is anything to go by, the DNC rigged the primaries against Bernie from the very beginning. Hillary only won because of superdelegates and other bull****. If Bernie runs again in 2020, it would be foolish to think that the DNC won’t screw him over again. They absolutely would! As long as Establishment politicians keep taking corporate money, they will never allow the status quo to change.

Good post. A lot of good points. I would love to see Bernie run again in 2020. Even at the age of 79, Bernie would be light years ahead of a 74 year old Trump in Competency. Bernie -vs - Biden would be a very interesting race. But, in any event, the DNC needs to eliminate Superdelegates. Losing the election in 2016 (based on a narrative of Hillary's "entitlement" after her loss in 2008.) was a Fatal Mistake by the Democratic Party. Biden (as a sitting 2-term VP) should've been the nominee. But, the DNC narrative of Hillary's "entitlement" kept Biden on the sidelines and proved Fatal for the Dems. In hindsight, it is glaringly obvious that both Bernie or Biden could've beaten Trump. Nominating a flawed candidate like Clinton (with so much baggage) was, essentially, the only way the Dems could lose to someone like Trump.
