Can Dominion Voting Systems sue President Trump for defamation?

That's the alarm that went off? Okay.

It's done. The case was dismissed with prejudice. No appellate court will rule in Trump's favor. And the SCOTUS won't touch it. It's done.

And this is only one state, and a ruling would not give Trump the win either way. Trump needs to turn three states. It's long past over.

 

It doesn't make sense to give credence to theories when all they have going for them is that they are possible. It's possible that aliens used mind control to make people vote a certain way.

 

I wasn't arguing that Gore really won. Recounts that occurred after the election result was certified don't count. I mentioned it just to show how close was that election, and that this made it reasonable to examine all perceived irregularities because they could make a difference. That's not the case, this time.

Protest? Do you mean the court cases? I have consistently said that those should play out (including appeals) but that the eventual verdicts should be accepted. Don't you agree?

 

Trump has been pursued by a conspiracy since he was sworn in. I don't find it too far fetched to believe it might have continued. I'll wait it out.

Don't you need good reasons to believe something? For example, Rudy claims the Dominion voting machines are rigged. In court, he'll need to prove that. If he fails to prove it, then it will be unreasonable to continue accepting Rudy's claims as true.

Not necessarily, not meeting the level of proof for prosecution doesn't always mean the charge is baseless. I want to hear what makes the Trump legal team so sure that fraud took place. I'll decide what I believe after we hear from them.

Yes they can. The president is protected from civil lawsuits that have nothing to do with fulfillment of his duties as president.

And by definition campaign and election matters are not linked to the president's official duties.

Trump openly accused Dominion of intentionally rigging their system to cost him the election and therefore that does constitute definition of character.

 

Florida HAD A HANGING CHAD problem which could have been interpreted in different ways. It was a VERY SMALL difference in votes between Gore and Bush which they first called for Bush then Gore and finally for Bush.

 

I am not a lawyer, but for me it sounds logical to sue Trump and Giuliani after President Trump will be declared as a loser in 2020 election.

That's fair, but be aware that some if the claims that have been made sound an awful lot like internet rumors that have been debunked. Still, like you, I want to see the evidence and I want the evidence evaluated.

 

Trump is free to keep filing frivolous lawsuits and the courts are free to keep dismissing them for lack of EVIDENCE.
