I was just wondering is it possible for dems to get those states back again or do they have to change their policies back towards the center?

If Dems want to win anything moving forward, they have to shift the needle back towards the center, and that's across the country.

People are getting tired of the progressive mindset of "everyone's a bigot, everyone's a racist, and the white race should be extinct."

Liberals can start winning again, but they need to be unifying, not dividing people.

Why would the Democratic Party want PA, MI or WI? Those states still are majority of white people who say they are Christian. The Democratic Party for the most part hates people like that. They should vote straight Republican in every election for every office.

Maybe in 2032 or 2036, that's if they don't hit full tilt and go past the point of no return.

The left needs to pick someone other than a corrupt serial liar to run for President. Major problem last time.

Eventually demographics will bring those states back in the Democratic fold.

Now that I think about it, any other Republican would probably have had those three states going Democrat.

The DP needs to stand for things that help rather than harm ordinary Americans. So does the RP.

I agree entirely, and I certainly don't think that either side is particularly great at it.

I hope they run The Rock in 2020 so we can show them all their posts about Trump being an entertainer and not a President.

And ordinary Americans are very aware of the failure of the corrupt ruling bipartisan political class.
The massive programs that serve the interest of the connected political elites at the expense of the productive working class stink to high heaven. Hence Trump.

    It's not about the center.

The Democrats made a purposeful decision in the 2014 midterms to abandon bother traditional base of working class whites in favor of a coalition of minorities and white academics.

Since the white working class holds significant sway in the Midwest, they lost big there.

Yeah, don't run Hillary. The one and only reason that Trump won was because the DNC was a political arm of the Clintons and rigged the election.

They very likely will go back blue again after Immigration and Trade no longer become dividing policy issues.

The Democrats kind of had been ignoring the unions in these states concerning national policy issues since Clinton's term of presidency.

I would not bet on it..... The democrats, instead of learning the lesson and starting to talk to them on pocketbook issues chose to stay in bed with costal elites and the media (let alone donors and special interests) and engaged in a vicious unscrupulous campaign to overturn the presidential choice these swing state voters made. The democrats' idea that these voters won't notice or ignore the fact that their voting priorities and electoral choices are utterly disregarded and insulted is going to bite the democrats for a generation.

They need to stop pandering to minorities and the elites and start going back to their roots of working class voters.

I will give you PA, and Wis but don't think Ohio was really in play for the dems last year.
