    Wisconsin here.

We're not going blue anytime soon. Walker is flat killing it in this State. Our unemployment rate is going to 3% - at 3.1% at least official tabulation - and he just landed Foxconn, and is going to expand the tax base here by drawing former Illinoisans who are disenchanted with that liberal hellhole.

He could get 60% of the vote.

Oh,,, more prog hopes and (d)reams.

Wisconsin is absolutely full red. Scott Walker has ensured it, and has endured not one, but two recall attempts. You progs had your shot, and the voters here rejected you. Now, Walker is doubling down on the reasons why: unemployment here is ~3% - beyond what is considered 'full' employment - and he just added Foxconn to the Wisconsin portfolio (they're calling it 'Wisconn' here now).

Disillusioned Illinoisans are moving over the border to join Wisconsin in rational fiscal policy. Even the Chicago Tribune editorial board is acknowledging what you can't seem to admit:

Mr. Madigan, Mr. Cullerton, Wisconsin thanks you for blocking Illinois reforms

Progressivism is being rejected across the entire country.

    Wisconsin? "Full Red"? :roflol:

I would wait until I see the returns for POTUS 2020 before giving any credence to that claim.

By that standard, you can say it of any State. Wisconsin is in GOP hands in the entire legislature, and the Governorship - and followed that up by voting for Trump.

What other standard would define 'full red', prog?

Losing health care and a job after someone has promised you that just the opposite would happen has a habit of waking people up to the fact that they have been lied to about economic issues. The educated and wealthy classes are doing well under Trump, but the people who voted for Trump are not.

Obama captured all three of these states. I believe, had Hillary chosen a better running-mate - maybe somebody with a "Green" reputations, she would have won them. I thought that Kane added very little to her efforts. The Republicans are losing ground in Western states like Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Montana, etc; and this could them. That said, the DEMs need to reclaim these mideastern high-electoral states.

I also believe that Democrats would do better in these states, if they had mail-in voting. The last-second, formerly illegal, Evangelical practice of prosletyzing from the pulpit garners a lot of turnarounds. Evangelicals threaten Eternal Damnation to their rural constituents, and then elect these exemplary representatives of Christian morality, like Donald Trump.

Yes, Lil Mike, it's true. Obama talked the talk about leveling the economic playing field, but he was ineffective in doing it.

I just wish we had a viable 3rd party. DNC and GOP are more alike than different.

The sort of "Independent" that appoints a RW Reactionary (Clarence Thomas clone Neil Gorsuch) to the SCOTUS?

Is that your definition of "Independent"?

Only a lib would call Gorsuch a RW Reactionary. Of course they would view anyone that values the Constitution and law, reactionary.

I'm not aware of any definition of independent that says "will NOT appoint Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court."
