When I was in college, in the early 70s, talking with intelligent women would get me, well, excited.

This confused, and angered them, since their inclination was to look at such discussion as distinct from the baser urges.

It was quite frustrating for me.

There was an exception. I was walking across the quad, and I could see the students ahead of me act startled when they passed under a large tree. When I got there, someone hurled an insult down at me. So I threw one back. I quickly realised she could see me, but I couldn't see her, and that left me at a considerable disadvantage. So I climbed the tree. She didn't know me, so she was worried at first. But we quickly settled into trading snarky cuts back and forth. It was wonderful.

We became good friends, that's all. But we understood each other, and that was plenty.

She died of a cancer in her 20s that was incurable back then. When you get old, you miss people. I miss her a lot.

 

From my experience in high end custom homes, money attracts beauty. I have seen dog-ugly guys with gorgeous wives which beget pretty offspring. They have the money for the best early support* leading to a good educational institution and a top job.
*Tutors, coaches, alumni “benefits”.

I base this on part of the near death experience of former Atheist Rabbi Alon Anava who reported being given essentially all knowledge during his brush with death......

My wife is a lot smarter than me....... and I am so glad that she is!

 

First of all, good on both of you. Nothing better than marrying up! My wife is way hotter than me, more athletic, and quite a bit smarter. I consider that winning. I'm more emotionally intelligent than she is (which she freely admits), but opposites attract, and we bring out the best in one another. Despite being way out of my league in most respects, she always comes to me for advice for anything involving social interaction. She jokingly calls me Public Relations and I jokingly call her Escalations. But there is truth in that humor. Many people have commented that they don't understand how we "fit," being polar opposites, but I love my warrior woman and she loves her gentleman.

But make no mistake, your girl is a lucky woman too, DT. You and I don't always agree, obviously, but it is rare to find someone with your level of empathy who is also confident as hell. You nail that, and I'm sure your person knows that.

Yes but that doesn't mean I'd want to live with them. Since divorcing an intelligent woman I have dated almost more women than I can count. That has provided a new perspective on what I want in a relationship. Intelligence has its benefits but more than that I want a woman who is passionate and loving.

If there is no passion in the bedroom then I don't care about much of anything else.

 

I'm a sapiosexual, so yes, really, really, really intelligent women are hot.

 

Ha ha, the only people I've heard use that expression are the really liberal women I date. LOL!

2. I prefer dating women who are mentally strong, and smart. I'm attracted towards intelligence, so, I'd actually prefer a woman who is incredibly smart! and not just book smart.

3. AOC (Socialist Cortez), wouldn't be nearly as popular, or even close to it, if she was an old fat woman. Just saying.

because getting people on the political right rather angry with her is one of the objectives that her handlers have for her....
