now people does this sort of silly quip sound like it comes from someone who is really concerned about armed criminals harming the innocents or is it more representative of someone who is trying to harass and annoy pro gun advocates?
now now Doctor-you've been around for most of his 15 thousand posts a year that mainly complain about gun ownership. have you EVER seen anything remotely suggesting any proof that crap like registration or waiting periods deters armed criminals?
The states of New York, California, and various other nations around the world, utilized firearms registration for the purpose of confiscating firearms. That is what the previous post in question referred to. Therefore your response is that firearms registration works great in making firearms confiscation a reality.
Any system can be abused. They can use car registration, voter registration, passport registration....etc to round up certain people at any time
The above is an example of trying to change the discussion. Since it is not possible for yourself to deny that firearm registration led to firearms confiscation, even in the united states, it is now being argued that the confiscation of registered firearms was justified. Such is not the case.
I don’t engage in personal attacks. However, if someone wants to ban guns or a class of guns, I’m going to point that out. I don’t think that’s flamebaiting. It’s just a fact that originated from a post they made.
I don’t think responding to a post that indicates someone is in favor of banning a class of firearms by using the term gun banner is derogatory. If you want to ban guns. You are a gun banner. That’s just fact. It’s not my intention to provoke. It’s just repeating what they said. I have never called anyone a gun banner that didn’t say the would favor banning some guns. I always try to debate politely.
this discussion is about issues, not calling people names. name calling serves zero constructive purpose other than to bait & provoke. thats why folks do it.
In your opinion how do you describe people that state they want to ban guns. I repeatedly refer to people as restrictionists that want to restrict my rights. Is that flamebaiting?
whether or not they are "gun banners" is not the topic of the thread. discuss issues and opinions about those issues, not individuals. is that soo hard?
