For those of us that prefer cats to dogs, here is your opportunity to share pictures and/or stories of your favorite cat. Here are my two cats. Oso and Merc. Oso is a male, 16 years old who is now having trouble walking (arthiritis). He has always been very big and fluffy and most people think he is fat, but he really isn't. Merc doesn't give him any trouble because he doesn't take any guff from any pet - he even stood up to my son's bulldog - made her run from him. Then we have Merc - a female who is 5 years old and thinks she owns the house. She doesn't give Oso any trouble because, like I said, he doesn't take any guff from anybody. She does bully the neighbor's cats, though.
I always knew that something in their feces was bad for pregnant women to even inhaie the fumes due to toxoplasma, why pregnant women should not clean the litter box, but I had never heard of the cancer thing. It is rare, though, probably like the cancer claim.
What My Cat Said: When I am an old cat, I shall wear a diamond collar and leave my footprints on white couches; I shall drink my cream with a touch of brandy and spit out my vitamins; I shall sit on the laps of dog people just to irritate them; I shall nap on top of the neighbor's petunias and perch on top of birdbaths and grow charmingly chubby. As of now, I must tolerate the dog and use my litter box and not sharpen my claw on the sofa, so no one can doubt the truth that "cats are superior to dogs". Once in a while I wonder if I should be naughty now and then and nip a few toes, so my humans won't be too shocked when suddenly I become an old cat and start to wear a diamond collar. [/IMG]
I love cats, I just simply cannot handle animal hair. Nothing irritates me more than putting on my dark cloths, looking down, and seeing animal hairs. lol
I have had two cats, and I spoiled them rotten. My cats become part of the family, they are my children. I treat them as if they were kids. I will never own a pet unless I can lavish my love and attention on them. My two kitties were named Kelli and Grace, and to me, they were my kids. I would have run into a burning building for them. I loved them and miss them.
Kelli died when she was six months old, got hit by the garbage truck, and we put Grace to sleep two years ago. She was twelve, and had cancer. I miss them more than anything.
We had our Patches for 19 years before we had to put her down. We lost a member of our family. That was about 4 years ago. I doubt if we will ever forget her as she bought so much laughter into our lives with her unconditional love for us.
It is sometimes amazing how special our animals are and how much they trust us. Pets will give us unconditional love and when they leave us, it can leave a gaping hole in your family. My ultimate gift for Gracie will be a tattoo of her on my upper arm. I have the photo ready, but have to decide when to get it done. I want to remember my baby forever.
there are some called munchkin cats, never seen one in real life but they look nice because they are extra small like kittens.
I love this cat pic. Its expression reminds me of my own after reading some of the strange loopy posts on Political Forum.
That's awful - I've had one dog and one cat killed by cars and it really sucks. I'm so sorry for you, Our older cat is 16, has trouble walking but doesn't show any signs of having any serious illness - we know that he isn't going to last too long, and we shudder to think about not having him. Best thing to get your mind off them is to get a replacement, but sometimes that isn't feasible.
I had never heard of them before, so I googled Munchkin cats and found out that they don't really stay like kittens, they grow old and look like older cats, they just have short legs - this Youtube of a Munchkin kitten is really cute, looks like his hind legs are longer than his front ones!
