Even though I am a progressive and to the left of the political spectrum, I've always spoken out against this "any day now" nonsense. I wish Cenk from TYT would make an update video telling everyone how "very surprised" he is. February 16th in the 4th United States timezone is approaching. I pay close attention to the calendar.
I watched the young turks on election night and cenk went on an epic rant that predicted Trump would require all mexicans to carry identification, that abortion would be outlawed, the stock market would crash, and torture would be commonplace. The most amazing thing of all was when they realized that Trump was going to win, they admitted that much of what Obama had been doing was unconstitutional, but they allowed it because they liked him.
I don't understand why they wouldn't have been able to admit this BEFORE they realised that Trump was going to win.
I forgot to add: the video was uploaded on August 16th 2017. On February 16th it will be exactly 18 months since the prediction. I'm generous so I point out that when midnight strikes on the east coast of the United States, it's still 3 hours to midnight in Los Angeles where TYT headquarters is stationed.
Because the left doesn't think like that. They think in terms of outcomes, and how they get there is irrelevant. Obama was their guy, he was doing insane unconstitutional stuff, but that was okay because he was their guy. Whenever a lefty starts talking about the constitution, you can be sure of two things. 1. They are using it as a weapon. 2. They don't care about the constitution.
The Young Turks are hilarious and their attitude is one of the reasons people voted for Trump. Cenk calling Trump a vitriolic idiot is really the pot calling the kettle black. Their 2016 election coverage is hysterical; And their 2018 night almost as good.

There is a third thing of which you can be sure of, they neither understand nor appreciate it. To much of the left the only real freedom is the freedom to rape and pillage. MIght be why they are so friendly to the Muslims with whom they have almost nothing in common save a hatred of the west in general and the US in particular.
The lefties always say stupid crap like this and then pretend later they did not say it. If one believed the climate change/global warming folks the world would have ended 20 years ago.
Cenek must have forgotten what an asshat he made of himself on election night. I tried watching this group once and their egos were bigger than my TV screen so they were never to be seen again but youtube videos still remain.
And you have struck on an essential aspect of our politics that is fundamentally flawed. Flawed not in process, but in the people who vote. A presidential election should never be seen as a popularity contest- it is a job interview, for the toughest job in the world. If we are unable to recognize our responsibility to ourselves to hire competence over compliments and lip service, we will botch our part of the process. A true leader does not pick the destination- we do that, and our choice was spelled out long ago by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. We re-affirmed that we we elected Trump. The leaders job is to take us to that objective as safely and quickly as possible. He is the navigator, choosing the means and route to get his job done. There will always be those equivalent to arm-chair quarterbacks, who are mainly nuisance noises.
