    My thread "Why didn't the allies back Hitler" was closed down to debate. From what I gather from the highlighted portion of those particular lengthy rules, it was basically because the thread was lacking in "opinion." Strange how that didn't stop others from debating me about it. But I think I know the real reason why it was closed down to debate. Because somebody posted a number of replies that spouted a truckload of garbage. And rather than let me refute it, the thread was closed down to debate. Leaving those statements to be the final statements on the matter. In my thread "Forums sentence people to death," I tried to make a deal. I guess I have my answer.

    That is always the risk here.

    I have had more than 1 thread hijacked by trolls, and the solution was to shut it down instead of simply kicking the trolls off of the thread or board.

    That is simply how things are.

    This thread does not meet the criteria to be in the military warfare section. You should be PM'ing this to a mod. I suspect this thread will be removed.

    That is a problem a lot in here have. Because it deals with war, they try to put them in here. But a WWII thread generally belongs in the History threads, unless it maybe deals with a specific piece of equipment or tactic.

    WHY SHERMAN TANKS WERE GREAT - SUCK: That is specific to equipment, so could belong here.
    WHY ISLAND HOPPING IN THE PACIFIC: Specific to a particular campaign and military tactic, so could belong here.

    But Hitler and the Allied powers? More of a generic historical and political topic than a military one. So that does not belong here.

    This current thread certainly doesn't belong here. It has nothing to do with war or history. It's just whining about another thread being deleted.

    Since shortly after the first of the year, I've noticed several topics started in forums not suited for the established criteria. Mostly from newer members.

    The bulk of which I wrote off due to them being from newer members.

    This poster? Nah, THIS poster could have been our messiah... Could have, if we hadn't gone & let them down.... I suspect soon another lucky site will be offered Teh Deal that was offered here....

    For humanity's sake, I hope they are wiser...
