I got one of those random census forms, and I thought it was intrusive -- wanting to know what you pay for home insurance and how much you have in the bank and your disposable monthly income -- and also your birthdate, a piece of info you cannot trust anyone with.

But now I see that some very useful illegal alien information did come in the kettle, and I don't resent it as much as before.

I mean, where's the harm if you go a little North "by accident" and wall up California too.

So if Trump wants to reduce taxes, cut costs, and this should be top of the list.
I understand that at the moment any child born in the US is automatically a US citizen an entitled to welfare, but surely as the parent is still in the US illegally they can still be deported. They parent could then have the option of taking the child home with them, because the child cannot be deported, getting a relative, who is in the US legally to look after the child or calling in the State to take the child into care.

The idea of a Constitution mandate for birthright citizens is Strong, but not settled.

Kind of lays waste to the idea that illegals are surviving off just $2/hr.

Deport them and divert the saved revenue stream into individual vested healthcare accounts for the productive American working class.
Politicians who do that will win elections.

Remember the orphan trains? Immigrants in NY who got sick with tuberculosis or who were convicted of crimes and knew they could not care for their children put them on orphan trains. The children disembarked in places like Omaha, Topeka, and Yankton where people were waiting to adopt them. Sometimes it worked out well, sometimes not. But the situation went from no hope to a chunk of hope.

Nothing was imposed on US citizens and their pockets were not picked by the government.

I would have liked to seen the data without including school lunch, in my town a family of 4 can make 45,000 a year and still qualify for reduced school lunch. I live in a 95% white suburb/rural town of 15,000 where 85% of the families own thier own home and almost 40% of the kids get reduced price meals. To me the most surprising aspect of it is that is is less than 2x the native households. I would have thought it was 3or 4X.

I live on the border, can't get anyone around here to work for les than $15/hr. Be fine if they worked like I do, but they don't, they do submininimum wage labor at best, and why not, they all get some kind of government benefits, so they really don't need me interfering with their beer drinking time.

I mean fine- build a wall, it will be a psychological barrier at least. But what I don't understand is the refusal of the Trump administration to go with economic deportation, cut off the ability of illegals to get work. I am talking jail time for Day-laborers/sweatshop owners, small business landscaping and construction companies. Throw a couple of homeowners in jail for a weekend for having a illegal maid or nanny. Go after them for not withholding Social Security. 10 of each kind in ten states in the period of a month would halve the problem in 6 months.

Legal immigrants and natives will not have to compete with lower wages, taxes will be collected to lessen some of the negative impact that legal immigrants have. We can not have the USA as an attractive place for illegal immigrants. Legal Immigration yes. The history of our country has proved that Immigrants are productive.

A combination of economic and criminal deportation and the wall will have the illegal immigration problem solved within 5 years. You have a child here- that child is a citizen and the child can certainly stay with any legal immigrant or native family, If the parents agree to deportation they go to the top of the list to getting back, if their child remains in the US with the stipulation that they receive no cash or medical benefits for two years Both parents will need to have a job waiting for them to return.

You will be happy to know that employers of illegal aliens are being arrested. The Trump administration is not refusing to do so. Where did you get they idea that it is?

    Here's a for instance:

In figure 2 I see that New York and Florida are doing better than California or Texas. Just pointing that out. They must have a plan to deal with the crisis.

I am not talking about one or two events, but a blitzkrieg/ Shock and awe type events. Ten events per border state per those 5 or 6 industries and families every week for like 3 months. 5 states - say 25 families, 200 businesses.
That type of event will have every legit industry scouring thier payrolls for illegals. Every non-legit shutting down and throwing all the illegals out of work with no prospects as it will be too hot, they will be digging tunnels going the other way.

Why leave out organizations like La Raza who condone and traffic in illegal identities they sell to illegals so they can work and pass eVerify? And frankly, the law already looks for and has remedies for the things you've identified. Seems though, when the law is actually applied, it causes this uproar within the democratic community.... why is that?

If you look at a map you'll notice that TX and CA are next to Mexico. FL and NY are not.

Efficiency-wise it would make more sense to just require mandatory E-Verify. That would vastly reduce the need for workplace raids. There are not enough ICE agents to make anything other than a small dent with raids.
