Well, it's about time. He should have fried 40+ years ago instead of being allowed to live his life out peacefully in jail. Oh, but the death penalty is inhumane, right?

Interesting that the prison called Sharon Tate's family first. I wonder if that's standard procedure. I'm sure it's anticlimactic now.

He should have been boiled alive. I hope he and Susan Atkins are enjoying their marshmallow roast in Hell.

If Manson is roasting in hell, what will be the fate of greater murderers? If the number of people one kills determines where in the afterlife one will be, where will George Bush be going? Barack Obama? Donald Trump?

It's too bad there isn't a hell for him to go to. He was a savage animal.

I honestly don't understand the liberal reaction to this. The insistence on making this guy into a cult hero. NPR waxed on and on about it this morning. Even with all of the equivocation, the underlying assertion seems to be, liberal 'merkia' just lost one of their great icons...

??? Yeah, because "Liberals" always tries to plot schemes where blacks and whites will be at war.

You are seeing politics where there isn't any. Do yourself a favour and seek professional help.

You evidently slept through the Obama administration, huh?? I did make a generalization though, all NPR folks being liberals and all, and their unrelenting partisanship wouldn't ever be that noticeable, huh? I don't see "politics" in this particular instance, I see ideological fanboys at the NPR who are devastated at their loss of their icon today.

Yeah, he's been in the news constantly for 40 years.

You are spewing garbage. Your arguments are irrational. There is no basis for your opinions.

Back up your claim or admit that you are out of touch with reality. Of course you will do neither because you don't care about facts.

I'm sure Manson's picture will be on Kaepernick, somewhere somehow. He probably cried over the loss already.

Was he ever formally diagnosed as a psychopath? It would be interesting to know how his brain compared to the average person in a PET scanner. He looked crazy as hell.

This where the notion of evil and mental illness cross swords. Even though I use the word evil so religious zealots can relate, as I do with trump, I see a crazy person. He was probably plagued with a host of mental illnesses in addition to extreme psychopathy.

I don't know that trump has been involved in any murders but I wouldn't put it past him to have somebody snuffed. So in a sense I can imagine him being on the same level as Manson. Crazy is crazy.

It's funny to me, there are often so many references on these boards about who is roasting in hell or there is a special place in hell for this type of person, etc. And yet, all too often these same people passing judgments are hardly believers themselves, much less truly devout Christians who make every effort to pine for heaven and fear hell.

Hell is real, but who is there and who deserves it?... the Catholic Church will not dare answer either of those questions for any person in history, even Judas. Because God has made clear "My ways are not your ways," and never to judge another soul in that sense as to what you determine it deserves or where it belongs. That is no small admonishment, that is a grave warning.

And the other warning to all of us carries great weight as well... "that by which you measure shall be measured back to you." We're all hypocrites in many ways, and purgatory is also real where we become purified before being allowed into the kingdom. Death will cause great awakenings for us all.

Correct. Yes, "hell" is just a fantasy cooked up by people who wanted to control other people - threatening them if they didn't think a certain way (and therefore wouldn't pay into the coffers of the religion!)......religion, it's all about the money.

"Charles Manson is rotting in hell"....according to the Bible, so is Gandhi, Ben Franklin, Jefferson, Einstein, and all other great people who have (unlike Manson of course) contributed greatly to the world - if they are simply non-believers. So of course god/Jesus is unfair. Putting Gandhi in the same place as Charles Manson, "forever", would be the biggest crime of all time - making god/Jesus the biggest criminal of all time of course.

Those presidents had a democratic nation (free elections) behind their actions (theoretically), in war. Big difference.

The swastika that he carved into his forehead is a dead giveaway......most of the people I know don't carve a swastika into their foreheads.

"Hell", finally, is one's state of mind. You have culpability, responsability, guilt, remorses, anxieties, panic - you are already in "hell".

Thus, if Manson is in hell, it's probably to rule some of it. Those without a conscience are that much lucky, IMO.

I remember one crazy South Park Christmas special featuring Chuckie Manson (where he change his ways thanks to a Christmas spirit of some sort).

Either you don't know the Bible or you are listening to the wrong preachers.

I will not bother explaining but I will say this ---- If it is the Bible that you think is the Be all and End all of God's teachings or revelations to mankind (It is not!), then take this from the Bible >>> Jesus speaking to Peter and His disciples Matthew 16 "You are rock and upon this rock I will build my Church... I give thee the keys to the kingdom.... Whatsoever you hold bound on earth shall be held bound in heaven."

Are you following? The Catholic Church determined which books were inspired and made up the Bible. The Catholic Church is the only authority on earth that Jesus established to not only determine the will of the Holy Spirit, but also to determine how Scripture is translated. Your translation above, about what the Bible is telling us about who goes to hell is baloney.

I can't say where Manson is right now, but I agree with the OP that he should have been executed 40 years ago and forgotten.

Doesn't surprise me about NPR. Terry Gross almost got on her knees and sucked Bill Ayers dick in her interview with him.

Trying to equate Trump to Manson is psychopathy in and of itself and your TDS is psychopathy on display

Actually he is resting for a little while longer. Judgment is not until Jesus comes, then those who died or was killed in His name, will be raised first. Then Judgment. It is from the dirt we come, to the dirt we go, until the return of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

He was originally sentenced to death but then liberal Cali got rid of the death penalty just in time to save Manson.
