These were not "Civil war" folks coming off the Manassas battle field doing reenactments in costumes and stage make-up. These were racist that traveled from other States to turn Charlottesville into ground zero for a race war, and they failed. Instead they just exposed themselves as domestic terrorists. An acknowledgement long overdue. The guy in the Dodge Charger has been identified as a 20 year old registered Republican out of Ohio, but even though this was a "Unite the Right" rally I'm betting that most of those Demonstrators were actually registered Democrat because most white supremacist are Democrats.

You did not read my post. They were not the Bull Run folk, but the surrender ground folk. It got overrun with racists, and the good folk washed their hands of it. I know them. I live here. I was at the protest as a counterprotester. Don't tell me whats what. I was here to tell you.

Peacefully? With riot shields, teargas, and night-sticks? If that's what you call peaceful then I'd hate to see what you'd consider non-peaceful. What about when those White supremacist showed up at Mosques last year with assault rifles? What do you think would have happened if those Muslims had come out with AK-47s in solidarity for equal rights instead of welcoming the White supremacist into pray? Oh yes, peaceful White Supremacist, they're just flower-power all the way. :blahblah::blahblah::blahblah:

Why in the world would you expect anyone to stand up for your rights? And why would you expect anyone to protect you? See how that works?

I live in Northern Virginia (Fairfax County), and we have Confederate memorials in Alexandria and countless roads named after Confederate heroes. But I have to say white supremacist would never pull that crap up here and walk away. I'm happy to see the Confederate purge taking place, and I welcome the day it arrives here. I wasn't aware this was happening today so close to me or I would have been down there also.

The last time these ******bags protested, antifa showed up with force. This time they came prepared for a fight. Begging for it really. Your side did not disappoint.

Considering they were attacked by protesters without a permit to assemble maybe the protection they brought along was warranted. But once violence happens the police should step in and first...stop the violence... and second...arrest the criminals. Because once TSHTF...it is criminal activity.

You will not find me on either side of this hatred. I refuse to participate in such nonsense.

It was warranted. I was there to represent the true conservative movement. To protest the racists, and let them know they arent helping. To discuss with my fellow leftist counterprotesters that these ****s do not represent us. I was horribly received on all sides. Was amazing. Wish more of us showed.

I also don't hit a hornet's nest with a stick or sit on fire ant mounds.

You can't reason with a mob. The best thing I can do for race relations IMHO is to treat everyone I meet with a friendly attitude and with respect. And sometimes to overlook perceived faults.

The media just makes up labels and then people rant as if they are accurate.

This was not a "white supremacist," "white nationalist," or "alt-right" protest. Those are just labels the MSM will say 1,000,000 times to convince people those labels are accurate.

Rather, the actual FACT is that it was a protest over removal of a statute the gave reverence to those, including their ancestors, who fought and died in their state militia in the Civil War.

My Mother made me read Nazi history before I was out of grade school. I saw the pics of the concentration camp victims and the atrocities committed on Jews, Gypsies, etc. But that is the very reason we must protect the rights of all people. I also remember the piles of gold fillings from the teeth of the dead.

They had a federally issued license to gather. There was a lot of talk on the ground of suing. Once the riot cops forced them out, they went on a rambling march of the city... which caused a lot of injury imo.

Yeah, no. These were white supremacists who want to identify as conservatives. I was there solely to reject that notion.

Police affidavit on tomorrow's "Unite the Right" attendees:
    • 150+ Alt Knights
    • 250-500 Klu Klux Klan
    • 500 "3% Risen"
    • 200-300 Militia https://t.co/Xfg44vmQlT

Yep they begged for it and now one of them is charged with murder. I would be interested to learn of any investigation that these white supremacist conspired to commit violence. Because although I've always criticized police for showing up in riot gear, I most certainly do not tolerate demonstrators doing it, because in regards to the police the police have the responsibility to maintain order. Demonstrators only have the right to voice their grievances. Demonstrators don't need shields and night-sticks to voice their arguments to other civilians. The removal of this monument was a lawful order by the local government, not antifa disobedience. Those white supremacists don't even live their, the monument was not part of their history. They committed a terrorist act. Are you really going to promote domestic terrorism?

When I was older I read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. How much human fat and lye make soap. The naked prisoners forced to stand at attention at 20 below zero. Furniture made of human bones. Lampshades made of human skin. etc...etc.
