Interesting news from Charlottesville that in a busy day of removing statues of traitors a statue of Lewis, Clark and Sacagawea was also removed. A woman claiming to be a descendent of Sacagawea offered her opinion to the Charlottesville City Council,

The NY Post article is written such that it conveys that the removal of this statue was a last minute approval, but that is a bit misleading since the city voted to remove it in 2019 and the last minute approval was simply to revise the work order that authorized the removal of the Lee and Jackson statues.

Sacagawea's presentation on this statue guiding their footsteps seems a somewhat reasonable explanation. She doesn't seem to me to be cowering and recoiling.

Removing this statue seems wrong to me, but I reckon if Rose Ann Abrahamson says it needs to go then it needs to go.

Charlottesville soooo bad wants to be San Francisco....if it weren't for The University Of Virginia Medical Center I wouldn't have need to set foot in it, even at that I endeavor to go directly to my appointments and then directly from them, stopping for nothing but traffic lights.

Because she framed it under the falsehoods of wokeness, CRT, 1619, and every other anti-White anti-American bit of cancerous rhetoric these far-left extremist progressives use to paint their canvas. Set all that aside and take a fresh look at the statue - what do you see? Lewis and Clark, explorers, gazing off in a direction they wish to go. Sacagawea, skilled tracker, displaying the skills needed to get them there. If we are to believe that statue was crafted out of 'racism' or 'White superiority' or whatever wokejoke nonsense these destroyers are peddling then, uhm, why did they even bother to include Sacagawea in the casting to begin with? Why not simply write her out of history and give all the glory to L&C?

Nah, this woke garbage is a facade for the real motivations. These radical progressives are simply bigoted racists who hate Whites, hate males, hate America, and they will conjurer up any boogeyman they need to in order to justify destroying all that made America (and the world) great. But hey, on the bright side, I guess now we have an ideal location for another monument to women beating career criminal drug addict felons - we should be seeing George Floyd statue raised in its place any day now right?

They also took down Bobby Lee and Stonewall on Saturday.... but all will likely find a more appropriate home...

The statue was taken to Darden Towe Park in Albemarle County, where the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center is located.

Not only removed Lewis & Clark and Sacagawea, but also George Rogers Clark, whose victory over the British at Vincennes (Ft. Sackville) brought the old Northwest Territory into the new United States. That territory became Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Was an interesting intersection for me, since my family spent a nice weather Saturday touring the battlefields of the Wilderness and Chancellorsville, where Jackson was mortally shot and Lee crushed Hooker.

All in all, I guess technically these men were "traitors", but deep down I cannot find it in my heart to condemn them... they fought a good fight for a bad cause...

But I'd still like all statuary of Civil War figures to be at battlefields or the like.... In fact, there's a very quiet place on the Chancellorsville site where Lee sent Jackson off on his famous flank march.... Would be a nice place for their 2 Charlottesville statues to go...

I think there should be higher priorities than this kind of stuff, but whatever. I just thought it an interesting factoid to share that Lewis and Clark are being removed as well as Lee and Jackson.

Charlottesville would be happy not to be remembered as a white supremacist parade ground and murder site.

So we should keep the statues of the confederacy in Charlotte, because, "its part of ou history", but we should not allow CRT to be taught because it's part of our history ?
