Doubling down on illegal policy that violates federal immigration law Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel says Chicago will continue to
implement sanctuary city policy that welcomes and shields illegal immigrants from federal officials, not that the Obama administration
is exactly rooting out foreign law breakers anyway.

In a direct challenge to president elect Donald Trump, who has promised to cut off federal aid to sanctuary cities, Emanuel is setting up
a showdown over the issue and is purposely provoking Trump with his declaration.

Ordinarily politicians don't proudly announce they will ignore federal law and, in a sane nation, risk legal action and law suits, as Jan Brewer was targeted in Arizona for following federal immigration law by Eric Holder.
But Emanuel is boldly claiming he will defy Trump and his new administration and continue to micturate on federal law.

It will be interesting to see if Trump follows through on a very basic campaign promise and puts a small time dictator in his place or not.

 

We see the Chicago murder totals posted on this forum on a regular basis. Emanuel needs to get his priorities in order. The lives of American citizens appear less important to the man than political posturing.

This is easy, withhold federal funds for starters(which yes Trump can do) and if Emanuel does anything to aid and abet illegals or direct anyone to aid and abet illegals, send in the FBI to arrest him and anyone else Something with De blasio, Stanton, and Lee.

As I have been saying all along. Criminals and thugs are the Democrat base. I hope that the GOP has the testicles to cut off federal funding to all Sanctuary cities, as well as the states where they reside.

 

if they don't want to enforce federal laws they don't need federal funding, simple. One of the basic planks of this election was law and order.

 

I think Trump should talk to the real leaders of Chicago---the gangstas: 4 Corners, Crips, Latin Kings, La Raza and dozens upon dozens more.

MS-13 is an illegal alien gang and the vast majority of 18th Street Gang are illegal aliens.

Should have been done decades ago.

Deport all of the illegal alien criminals that are walking on our streets, Americans might look at the other illegal aliens differently.

Exactly. People think there has to be some special effort made to secure the border and deport illegals.....it is law already on the books.

 

It'll be interesting to see how Trump responds when his authority is challenged. It most certainly will be challenged.

 

The legal residents of Chicago should show up on the mayor's door stop and demand he enforce the law. If not then a recall should be in order. I would add if the citizens let the Mayor's illegal sheltering of illegals continue then let them stew in their own mess. The Feds should stop the funding and let the citizens of Chicago foot the bill. If I was a resident of Chicago I'd start the recall petition today. People of Chicago, you don't have to let this mini dicktator decide what's best for you.
