No surprise which council member would want the city to discriminate against a private co because she's worried they might use "corporate profits" to fuel discrimination, is it? It's the new norm for gays and it's working for them. But what I find interesting is how Councilman Lopez framed the issue saying opposition to the chain at DIA is "really, truly a moral issue on the city." What? Chick-fil-A sells chicken sandwiches!

    And then there's this;
So, here we have Mr. Lopez invoking Trump's stance on illegal immigration in a very derogatory, spiteful way while using it as the moral high ground for denying Chick-fil-A a space at DIA???? Wait a minute! What the heck does Trump or illegal immigration have to do with this?

It's pretty clear what these fine, "morally grounded", counsil members are alluding too in this dicussion and it boils down to this; we're progressives and if you want to do business with the city of Denver you'll need tow the progressive line or we'll punish you. In fact, if they think there's any chance a business might use funds against a progressive agenda item they've decided to throw out the red flag. Which, unless you understand progressives, might seem odd since they're the first ones to DEMAND tolerance or else, but it isn't. It's just the way they roll.

So they are using their power as public officials to punish those with differing political opinions even though they are violating no law.

    Typical left wing fascism.

The LGBT Attack Squad is who should be banned , if we are actually trying to stem hatred for others.

Correct. Chick-fil-A hasn't broken any laws, they opporate ethically and don't cheat on their taxes. They also make more operating 6 days a week than most chains who operate 7 days a week, so people obviously like what they're serving. BUT...the ones who build this thriving business oppose gay marrage, so all the good they do is ignored and BOOM...they're only recognized by progressive's as "gay haters", bigots, who deserve punishment for their believe. It's nuts! Pure evil.

I've noticed during this presidential season Rep candidates are being grilled on the "gay" issue by so called media types as if that's the ONE issue the entire country is intent on hearing about, but it's not. It's a distraction. It's also an issue liberal's in the media can pound on, manipulate and shape to form a very negative image of Rep who oppose gay marrage. Why they opposite it will get scant mention, but just the fact they allows liberal's the pleasure of labeling them in whatever sick way they please. I mean, they'll treat it the same way they do abortion or the "settled science" of what's now called climate change. Debate is fruitless.

until the left can show some sort of Planned Parenthood type of video of gays being refused service, not hired and specifically told the reason is because they are gay, or can show less qualified candidates were given promotions over gay co-workers.... then they are simply pounding sand. Sorry different opinions offend you so much.

CFA should serve as the model for how to operate a business while still allowing the owners to maintain their religious beliefs. CFA franchises and corporate should be allowed to donate to Fellowship of Christian Athletes (who support traditional marriage) just as much as Ben + Jerry's can donate to man-made global warming groups, or LGBT groups.

could you imagine the outrage if an airport blocked B+J from coming because of their support of gay marriage?

You'd think the LGBT would find another target. Everyone remembers the last time push came to shove with these 2 , and the Gays were reminded how miniscule they were in comparison via the turnout from both sides.

    No kidding.

It's funny how the left are such a one-issue party.
Gays are such a nonissue, people are so over them... yet the MSM can barely think of anything else.
As if an issue relative to 3% of the population is a deciding factor in any election.
I can think of a thousand things more important.
    Hopefully the candidates can too.

As stupid as they sound, I am at least glad to see people focus on something else once in a while... like: "OMG Trump wants immigrants to be legal!"

To Progressives tolerance equates to agreeing with them on everything ( keep in mind they reserve the right to change the PC opinion whenever and you need to follow along). Anything that goes against their current PC opinion is "hateful" in one way or another.

Yes, we were shown that given the choice between supporting people's rights to equality or supporting a multi-million dollar for-profit corporation whose management doesn't want people to have those rights, a majority of folks chose to give their money and support to the latter, not the former.

Yes those were great days for America. It really showed how much we value freedom and justice. A majority of us were more concerned about a chicken sandwich than we were about justice.

They are discriminating against people/companies who discriminate.
If you don't like discrimination, than don't support a company that does.

Apparently the local government won't be breaking laws either when not allowing the chick-fil-a at the airport, and operate ethnically etc.

Chik-Fil-A has never done anything but treat people equally. Unfortunately for you and the LGBT attack squad...people are entitled to their own opinions and mindsets. You'll just have to come to grips with the fact that not everyone believes gay is a normal, healthy lifestyle for a population to endorse. Having an opinion isnt discrimination, even though you guys would like to make it so.

    - - - Updated - - -

They'll have to. What they are doing IS discrimination, and they'll fold. You can't punish for beliefs.

The owner had a personal opinion. That opinion did not impact his employees... The only one in the case that is not getting equality is.... the Owner.

    - - - Updated - - -

How were they not operating ethically? Btw there is a difference between Ethics and Ethnics just saying....

It's more like, that unfortunately for you, times have changes and you're entitled to your own opinion and mindsets. But the you have to come to grips that it's legally and morally perfectly okay that companies who want to discriminate gays, can be refused to rent a place so they can do business.

    - - - Updated - - -

Negative opinions of gays or being gays,... is not considered ethnically.
    Times have changed.

I never once said that Chikfilet did anything illegal or that they treated people wrongly. I said their management supports denying equal rights to people which is true. And they support it not just with words but with dollars. They have every right to do that too. My comment was about how people chose to flock to that company when that financial and ideological support was publicized showing they care more about chicken sandwiches and supporting for-profit corporations than they did about equality and justice. It was the people I was condemning, not chikfilet.

You can put your wallet down, I'm not attacking your precious chicken sandwich.

Can you link me where they discriminated please? You're making a claim that needs to be backed up or deleted. Opinions are not discrimination.

You can not punish people with different preferences of gender.
You can not enforce your believe on others either.

Perhaps the people who turned out , did so for more than a chicken sandwich? Perhaps the 2 sides turned out for...their beliefs, and the venue simply happened to be based around the chicken sandwich?

You most certainly can vocally express your opinion to discriminate others.

no gay was denied service, a job, or a promotion at CFA..... no discrimination found. I understand you really REALLY don't like them.... but that doesn't mean they did anything wrong past daring to not drink the same flavor koolaid as you.

    - - - Updated - - -

did this EVER happen? Did CFA ever say "I wish I could hire/promote/serve you, but you're gay...."

    prove your case

Chik-Fil-A wasn't standing in the way of justice, or infringing on anyone's equal rights.

The president was donating to organization the gays didn't like. Big F'ing deal.

So yeah... people, even many who didn't care either way, supported the business who is known for good pay, great product, great treatment of employees, and most of all.... they were tired of the crying from the left.

Who needed the support... the gays who were calling the death threats? Or the targets of those death threats?

Correct, they won't be breaking any laws, however, when members of the council stretch their opposing views by invoking unrelated topics such as Trump's stance on illegal immigration I'd hardly crown them as "ethical". You problaby would, but not me.

    first of all.... THEN*

second.... CFA didn't discriminate, they had a different opinion, but never once, refused to hire/promote/serve gay customers. What the private owner does with his money is not discrimination in serving delicious chicken sammies

what this comes down to is you hate that a conservative group makes a lot of money.

So you guys need to cut it out then, Chik Fil A's owners get to believe what they want without being targeted and punished.

    - - - Updated - - -

So thats a no then, you cant provide ANY claim of dicsrimination. You should delete any posts which fraudulently claimed this was happening.
