Pedophilia has been around since the Roman Empire. Read Marcus Aurelius' memoirs. It is a sickness like male and female homosexuality, which has been around since ancient Greece and ancient Israel. Even Moses was compelled to mention it in his laws. He made it a capital crime.
Yes paedophilia is around forever, but I don't see homosexuality as a sickness. I see myself as to progressed for that. Everyone to his/her liking, but we have to make sure to keep the kids out of it.... Regards
Well according to Moses, not only kids, but beasts, same sex, mother and daughter together, etc. It really all depends where you get your rules from. If you are atheist and hedonist, then there are no rules. These psychos who take advantage of others whether children or women or simply other people's lives have no sense of empathy. They are emotional freaks. But when you add to that a lack of religious values and/or no rational ethical philosophy, then there are no brakes put on the hedonist appetites.
If you don't see homosexuality as a sickness then you are simply doing it all wrong -- which makes it a huge hemorridal pain in the bung hole.
At the risk of repeating myself, I| can't believe anyone would do such a revolting thing unless under pain of death. And in my case I'd settle for pain of death rather than do it!
I'm not religious but I live in a multicultural, Christian country and usually follow the laws of the land. I'm with Moses, but have no objection to homosexuality. If you are born that way that's the way you are. I think paedophilia is a very distressing thing and causes great suffering to kids. The misery our churches have inflicted on countless children is horrifying. the churches had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the point where they would admit that paedophilia was an issue and the churches were responsible. Not very Christian, moral or ethical.
Wow, I rather deal with people who regard religion as it is, a mankind invention by most likely old men. The last thing I would do is to entrust my kids in the hands of a priest or similar, we all know how that turns out to be, especially in my country. What is good and what is bad can certainly be told much better without the reference to any God or religion. Deep inside we all know...... Only my five cents, Reg.
Try looking at Wiki And Google up Bonobo apes. That lot would screw a goat, a duck or a tree if it stayed still long enough
Speaking as a father of four, I have a pathological hatred of pedophiles and believe they deserve to be removed from the gene pool as expeditiously as possible. Consenting adults is one thing. Preying on innocent children is something entirely different. Like that sick puke mother who rented out her 6 and 4 year old kids for money and drugs. If not death, then genpop amongst the lifers.
We hear about and discuss EVERYTHING these days, Previously We heard about much less... and often considered certain subjects out of bounds for discussion. Do you really think child abuse was less commin in the “good ol’ days”
Good comment, I don't know whether it was less common in the good old days or whether part of today's population wants to have these things sorted for the sake of all kids. The more these things surface, the more people stand up against it. At least that is my sincere hope. Yes the Greek and Romans had their toy boys, but my feeling is that the sangfroid has risen by a country mile.... Yeap, some things are hard to understand, impossible to comprehend. Just not quite sure harder sentences are getting us ahead, although my inner voice would strongly say yes. When guys do such a crime people tend to say ""chop them off"", but with a mother? Would we really get rid of the problem if we lock these people away, or chop their balls off? At the end of the day their appears to be a market for such things..... Reg.
Off topic Yes, indeed there is a market for even the most deplorable things Which is a reason why we cannot consider markets as somehow sacred Things which should never be interfered with or regulated
I don't think things have necessarily changed 'for the worse'. I think more and more people who have been suppressed by society are breaking free and starting to talk about things that would have been kept secret in the past.
