China's rate of technological development is accelerating. Weeks ago there was news that China was leading the world in Supercomputer speed and had done so for a number of years despite bans on the export of US technology in this field.

A decade ago, it was speculated that China was a world leader in laser technology and they have kept all their laser developments very secret. Little information escapes China on the subject of laser technology military applications.

It appears that China's technological development is now self-sustained and not reliant on imported technology.

This portends bad news for the USA as China competes in the military sales markets of the world and aims for eventual military supremacy.

The USA is full of pompous would-be capitalists who would pimp their grandmothers for a nickel.

The wind tunnel is just another example of China being behind in a technology and coming out with a research system that is bigger and better than what we have in the US. Their supercomputers are home built now and they have the fastest and now the most in the world.

Hopefully we can get a decade ahead of the Chinese when it comes to quantum computers, as they are running laps around us now in the supercomputer race. Their quantum comm. satellites are also impressive considering where the Chinese were 20 years ago in their space, rocket, and technology programs.

This meme was discredited twenty years ago, but right wingers continue to cling to it.

If China continues to race ahead, you can thank your man child hero. Trump has thrown almost every aspect of American governement, technology investment, and trade into reverse.

While China races ahead to world leadership, the US parties like it's 1921.

Right on! So, let's start taxing graduate student tuition, so a cash strapped grad student, as is, will have to pay taxes on another $20,000 on "income" not received. That will make students go into STEM and breed the next generation of talented innovators who can compete with China.

You couldn't make this stuff up. But, then, that's what you get when you have a con artists in the WH who has made money with shady real estate deals. He wouldn't know the last thing about innovation.

You think it only took China 1 year to jump ahead? We already know that you don't, you just want to.blame Trump for everything. Which obviously makes all of your opinions worthless.

China's tech will continue to speed past ours, and everyone elses, because they invest heavily in it. They also spend billions a year stealing as much as they can, which is another reason their tech is moving faster than anyone else in the world. They take bits and pieces from hundreds of sources and combine it with their own research.

The real question is whether the US will invest in relevant research instead of useless aide projects. I doubt we will. No real profit to be made from those investments.

You dispute that tRUmp is beholden to RUssian & Chinese money for saving him from bankruptcy again in 2008? That's why he is making RUssia & China great again, hello.

Is it your opinion the the govt dumping billions every year in into student loans that probably won't be paid back is the answer?

So what dastardly deed did he do that caused the US to fall behind China in tech?

Penny wise, pound foolish, that's what this is. Of course, saving a penny is never a concern when giving tax cuts to the rich. But poor graduate students who will be the next generation of innovators, let's milk them.

So tax the rich and then what? My tax rate has zero effect on you. Warren Buffetts tax rate has zero effect on me. Neither of our tax rates have any affect on these poor grad students that are living off loans they probably won't pay back anyways.

Sure, if deficits don't matter, then tax rates on the rich have no effect on anyone else. Except that the same ones who cut taxes for the rich then turn around and want to cut benefits for everyone else to "balance" the budget, except the bloated military budget.

STEM PhD grad students get stipends and don't get student loans. Shows ho much you know about higher education.

You must be very proud of your Chinese comrades.

No doubt you truly believe this since most of your other posts continually bash the US and indicate you have zero respect for Americans and American culture.

Name something actually made in China and designed in China that isn't a POS or close to it....GO!!!

Not saying it doesn't exist but you have to dig deeper. They aren't innovating or the "news" you hear about innovation is let's say, "hand crafted"....remember they block most of the internet there.

Pompous Socialists who would send their own grandmothers to a Gulag are worse. At least in the US, we can each choose our own path.

Note that the tax proposals also preserve the tax benefits for companies that move jobs overseas, too.

Since your ilk tends to look at the future through their rear view mirror, I'm sure that you can recall when people said the same things about products "Made in Japan"

That's not much different than the last 8 years where we partied like it was 1964. At least Trump is doing what he can to make this country great again.

While you were nerding out to the extreme again, you forgot to capitalize the "ru" in bankruptcy.

Oooo, you really told us there, didn't choo. Obviously higher education doesn't play well with common sense in most cases.
