I’m not seeing that here. I have one 5000 ml lactated ringer manufactured in El Salvador (not that I want their water either), but my 1000 ml Becton Dickinsons are made in Norway and Braun is all US manufactured. They are expanding and updating facilities here in the US presently.

Now IV administration sets I have are all China manufacture. Which stinks considering there is quite a bit of similar equipment manufactured in my area.

Do you know what brands are manufactured in Bangladesh and China?

    Googled it... https://www.latimes.com/science/story/2020-01-17/coronavirus-airports-lax-sfo-jfk-screening-china

They are checkin everyone on the flights, not just Asians, so I guess the ACLU won't get into a henweigh over it.

    From the article:
Passengers flying into Los Angeles International Airport, San Francisco International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York will be examined for the virus’ pneumonia-like symptoms, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

The article mentioned that 100 additional CDC checkin workers will be deployed to join eggzisting public health staff at the three airports. Nothing was mentioned about space requirements or sunlight though.

My wife is from Wuhan, and she was there at the outbreak. I picked her up from LAX on the 19th, and they were screening all passengers for symptoms, not just Chinese. They handed out this to all passengers:

The latest video of the blocked area of the mainland: not wuhan Paramedics are examining patients infected with the virus, many of whom died at home. The tweet said that the sound of gunfire in the distance was deterring those who wanted to escape.

China is going to China. Surround towns and fire guns to discourage people from leaving.

This is tending to target the elderly.

However if someone was to become infected in the US, now is the time, when medical resources are primed.

That said, I don't think it poses a threat in the US.

I really don't see how they can screen everyone. Maybe only flights from China? They just reported the 1st confirmed case in Canada. Will they screen all flights from Canada too?

It may be a miscommunication, but discusstoon about chickens requiring a certain amount of space ⁰ ALL chickens imported or raised in California in any commercial facility.

I did mention about some sunlight being required, but that was deleted when was initially drafted. It stuck in my mind because I would buy humain and organic eggs from vendors who specifically that chickens be allowed to scratch, eat a variety of food and run around for better health and tasty meat.

There are agricultural checks on borders to adjacent states, which are very lax anymore. The Mexican border is only looking for illegals. Someone could have flu, any disease of any known and you will be waved on by!

    Hasta la Vista, baby!

Only Americans returning from China would go into quarantine.

No one else will be allowed in that has China 2020 on there passport. If we need to expand it to other countries, we should do it.

I had chickens in the 1980s, Buff Orpingtons and Barred Rocks, they were a pretty sight roaming freely on my back 3/4 acre with trees and grass. Organic eggs from chickens that were allowed to scratch for bugs and seeds, and run around for better health. Not sure if the meat was tasty, couldn't bring myself to kill them because they were more like pets.

I don't know if that was on purpose or merely serendipitous, but disscusstoons about chickens are great and can be humorous. However, I thought we were talking about Airport check-ins for those traveling here from China. It is a good idea in my opinion - although more drastic measures may need to be taken if this virus turns into an epidemic.

I wonder if a wall would help keep the flu-ridden, or any disease of any known from crossing the border? Hmmm... maybe the wall is a good thing - because I have a strong dislike for any type of nucleic acids encased in capsids that are allowed to enter the United States from questionable origins.

I am seeing some hope ionosphere can reduce antibiotics used with human, but it remains that considerable amounts of antibiotic resistance is being used for feed and maintenance, not just cattle etc where ionosphere technology might be used, but fowl etc where human antibiotic is used.

But in the USA, antibiotic reduction is "voluntary", so it's a bit hard to see what reduction has occurred, except for those do-gooders who are willing to waste money for such nonsense!

I am sure Americans are happy to be risking illness and death of our children in order to allow livestock profits to be increased 1 or 2 %!

I'm surprised the military has quarantined 60 million people. Seems like china took a hard stand on this virus.

China, in a few weeks, has a new disease that has made at least 4,000 people seriously ill and scores of people died and more than that in process. Many areas of their hospitals are overwhelmed from that plus a high level of flu and others.

It's as likely that they have not quarantined enough around their country as they may have quarantined too many.

We can only hope USAs authorities will make those "hard judgements" as China is.

    But I doubt it.

But here is some of the law involved, though:

It is an international emergency. We already have 3 cases in America including Chicago. This thing is spreading unbelievably fast. No treatment for it.... no treatment at all.

In 2017, millions of Americans contracted the flu. Of those, about eighty thousand died. Not to minimize it, but isn't this coronavirus just another form of the influenza virus?

So you advocate for ionosphere use in humans but not animals? No ionophore used in agriculture today in the US is an antibiotic used to treat humans. Monensin , the most common ionophore for ruminants is derived from Streptomyces cinnamonensis, a predominately soil dwelling bacteria that is also naturally occurring in the rumen. Essentially, the use of monensin in cattle is as safe as you eating yogurt as a source of probiotics.

Also, if you are a climate change activist, monensin can cut methane production in cattle by 25%.

Ionophore use in all species is primarily for coccidiosis control. Since coccidia can survive as spores in litter and soil, the parasite is common in free ranging poultry and cattle as well as confined populations.

Over the last couple years, the US has been phasing in new regulations on feeding antibiotics to food animals. I now have to buy products like chlortetracyclene under script by a licensed veterinarian just like injectable products. It’s silly because nobody overused fed products anyway because of their expense and quickly diminishing returns economically. So essentially they are being used for treatment purposes only, same as before, just with more paperwork and a potentially longer period between diagnosis and treatment resulting in animal suffering and mortality.

Bottom line, there is no risk to our children from current ionophore (or antibiotic) use in animals in the US. Claiming so is equivalent to science denial.

What about the big container ships that import vast amounts of crap in America from China? How would you isolate them?

Friend in the know says the outbreak is far more serious than their government is letting on.

    They're asking for help.

I was working in hospital during that flu season, it was nuts.

Its a different type of viri that causes similar symptoms-but the fact that its new, and has apparently spread from animals is part of the concern.

HIV, influenza, coronaviri will all have similar symptoms-but some symptoms are worse than others.

That I can agree with. Not too surprisingly, it seems the more radical a dem is, the more ugly they are too. Sometimes it's outwardly obvious caused by lack of self esteem, etc. In other instances, being in a constant state of hate can make a person ugly from within as well as to negatively affect their physical appearance.
