They do not have to do anything -although from the article linked to in my last post they are apparently doing something.

Your "Sticking finger in the wind" analogy is not a good one.

Why? how many farmers does it take to produce 100 tons of soybeans, not even one. How much water is being taken out of our midwest aquifers and do you know how fast they are being depleted.
And I don't know where you got we import 250 bill of electronics.
    1. 150 bill of all electric machinery- not just electronics.
    2. other machinery 117 bill
    3. Furniture and bedding 40 bill
    5. toys 30 bill
    6. Plastics 20 bill

Now our total agri-bus exports to China was 12 bill dollars. And please with family farms it is huge agri-business that do the vast majority of the selling.

I don't even know if you are an American, but I question your and fellow free trade proponents patriotism. People who are willing to trade our wealth for cheaper items. As US manufacturing declines the wealth gap will continue to widen. As the multinationals have us compete with the latest developing country. Lets throw away our wealth along with the 55" tv that has a short.

So for you its just business as usual?

Allow china to take over industry after industry and grow economically till it dominates the world technologically, politically and militarily?

The mothers milk of geopolitics is economic strength

And for 40 years globalists have assisted china’s growth while limiting our own

You are correct that the figure is not as high as 250 Billion - nor is it 150 Billion as you have stated. It is 189 Billion. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/h...thats-causing-a-huge-trade-deficit-2018-03-23

No need to get into name calling "questioning patriotism". What I stated was s simple mathematical fact. The 3% value add number is accurate. The value add for soybeans to the US is obviously around 90%.

Simple math tells us that if we want to compare apples to apples - with respect to the benefit of trade to each nation - not all trade dollars are equal.

Do we buy TV's from China ? Though it was mostly Japan and Korea.

The point he is making is that if Apple sells 60 billion dollars worth of phones in the US China has only about 1.8 billion dollars invested in them. Because we tax the total cost of the phone and China only supplies the labor to build them.
Whereas when they buy 4 billion dollars of soybeans we have 4 billion dollars invested in them.

Not sure why you would make up such a nonsensical strawman. I stated a simple fact .. no need to make stuff up and attribute it to me.

If you can't deal with reality - I am not sure what to tell you.

Why do you defend a regime that practices slavery, openly steals trade secrets and now is shooting their own civilians?

I thought Progressives were against that?

Or are you having a tough time as you are more "for Communism" than the virtue signals you try and preach?

Why do you insist on making stuff up and attributing it to me. I did not defend China.

If you can not handle reality - and feel the need to go into some demonization rant when presented with facts that conflict with your perspective - perhaps it is time to grow up.

I am going to keep telling people what this strategy is because the Socialists/Progressives/Communists continue to use it and some people aren't seeing it.

It is called "Deconstruction" and is a Neo-Marxist invention by a guy named Jacques Derrida, in an attempt to subvert typical "Western Idealism" given to us by John Locke.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Derrida

It is authoritarian, it is hateful, it is built on the Communist idea of:

"People are what they own, not what their ideas are"

    Sound familiar yet people?!?!?!

You bring up that the Chinese economy is unfair for The West and that things need to be changed.

They come back with arguments about making more money, which has nothing to do with the overall benefit of America.

Then they finish it with a snarky comment meant to anger you, not allowing you to think about the subversion that is actually going on.

DO YOU SUPPORT THE COMMUNIST AUTHORITARIAN REGIME IN CHINA, OR DO YOU SUPPORT FREE TRADE IN AMERICA

The two are mutually exclusive until a trade deal is reached with true freedom. Anything else people tell you, like GiftDone above, is just propaganda meant to change the conversation.

Neo-Marxist, Communists, Socialists, Progressives. They are the true enemy of freedom.

Oh look, another practice of EXACTLY WHAT I SAID ABOVE.

Are you about "making more money" or are you about "the good of America"

It is BLATANTLY obvious that you are talking about the former and not the latter.

And look!!!! Just like a good Communist, you are practicing Deconstruction perfectly

Trying to anger me with ridiculous comments at the end of a statement with no worth.

YOU SCORE ZERO POINTS, WE ARE ALL DUMBER FOR HAVING READ YOUR WORDS, MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL

What a mindless demonization rant. First you accuse me of wanting America to make more money - as any good Capitalist wants to do. In the next sentence you are accusing me of being a communist.

If this isn't dumb and dumber - I am not sure what is.

Stating both sides lost much in WW2 .. is not saying there was no winner.

For those of us with brains - the point I was making is that it would be good to avoid the losses from a Trade war if possible .. just like is good to avoid war if possible.

Sure we won the war in Iraq - Was it worth 5 Trillion dollars ? Get some critical thinking skills and quit thinking of things in such simplistic "black vs white" terms.
