Whether you see the connective tissue between forms of religious, racial, gender-induced, or orientation based discrimination, is not especially pertinent to a discussion of the tactics civil rights activists use to fight them in the business world. Normally civil rights activists target businesses they perceive as engaging in discriminatory treatment with extra attention. If the Jewish Defamation League catches the scent of an employer refusing to hire or serve Jews , that is a business where they are going to send some 'love', in their war against anti-Semitism. They may send a threatening letter, declare a boycott, or send a few Jews in there for evidence. Same is true of women, gays, blacks or even older Americans who think they smell bigotry.
