The CIA has concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul last month, contradicting the Saudi government’s claims that he was not involved in the killing, according to people familiar with the matter.

The CIA’s assessment, in which officials have said they have high confidence, is the most definitive to date linking Mohammed to the operation and complicates the Trump administration’s efforts to preserve its relationship with a close ally.

The CIA sees Mohammed as a “good technocrat,” the U.S. official said, but also as volatile and arrogant, someone who “goes from zero to 60, doesn’t seem to understand that there are some things you can’t do.”

Well, that doesn't beat around the bush, does it... Ordered it... Not Knew about it.... Not wanted it done..... ORDERED IT!

Not sure how we (Trump) can continue to sweep that under the rug.... His response to this news this AM during Chopper Talk:

"They give us a lot of jobs, they give us a lot of business, a lot of economic development, they have been a truly spectacular ally in terms of jobs and economic development and I also take that, you know I'm president, I have to take a lot of things into consideration."

WTF?? Complete dismissal of the report.... repeating himself .. .reminds us he's the president (thanks for that, BTW... we haven't forgotten).

MBS and Saudis need to pay a significant price for this action... period!

    What say ye?

His message would have been fine if he would have addressed the elephant in the room so to speak imo. A little public slap on the wrist would suffice. We’re all adult enough to realize Middle eastern culture is vastly different than our own. I’m sure almost every regime there has similar crap happen.

Like Trump I could not care less what these damned Muslims do to each other.

Are they not constantly killing and torturing each other? They are barbarians.

So why mess up our economy over their stupid infighting?

    Much ado over nothing.

I'm waiting for release of the audio of this little party. When that happens it will be on the Internet in a flash. First, the public will vomit, then they will go bats**t crazy.

The public will say, "The economy is booming......should we slow it down for some greasy stinking Arab who made too many enemies?"

And the public will yawn and move on to Christmas shopping.

Ok. Now what? Do you Dems want to go to war with SA over this? So the crown ordered an extrajudical killing of one of his citizens? Ok. When Obama did that to an American you said nothing

I don't care what they do to each other either... this isn't that... Khashoggi had strong American ties and this cannot go unpunished...

    Two words - Magnitsky Act....

    SNIP
Since 2016 the bill, which applies globally, authorizes government to sanction human rights offenders, freeze their assets, and ban them from entering the U.S.[1]
    ENDSNIP

Above is a start....If it doesn't apply here, it's a useless piece of legislation...

Right don’t care, left wants war. Solid middle ground is hallow words to placate everyone imo. Plus if more embarrassing info comes out trump would be on record “admonishing” them. That’s pretty much how it’s been done in the past either turn a blind eye or a fake slap on the wrist

Of course he ordered it, but I really don't care. A Saudi ordered the killing of a Saudi on Saudi soil. Not really something that surprises me at all. Is it a good thing no, but this is how countries like that operate.

Arab the Arab has already got a sacrificial lamb to pay for it. Saudis have plenty of escape goats ,no shortage.

So should we sell advanced weapons systems to countries that operate like that?

All countries operate like that. Do you think we are that perfect? Whistle blowers and people calling for dramatic changes in government often die mysteriously. Just look at anyone that crossed the Clintons. Unfortunately what happened here is not all that unique.

Or should we kill our relationship with the one country that is fighting Iran at every turn. There are no easy answers hear and anyone acting like there is most certainly foolish or a political hack.

Mohammad Bone Saw is but the latest example of us picking the wrong people to hang around with. We need their oil, they need our arms. Here's some F-35's now fill up that supertanker. A better ally would be Iran. That's right, Iran. The Iranian society is much closer to ours, they are Persian, not Arab. Yup, for now they are great supporters of terrorism. So is Saudi Arabia - they knocked our buildings down.

We need to cut a deal with Iran. Play nice and you have the U.S. as ally and trading partner - full diplomatic relations and the whole ball of yarn, the Germany of the Middle East. BUT you gotta play nice. No more of this terrorism and North Korea bulls**t. If you're our pal, you're Israel's pal too, and the rest of our Middle East allies. We'll bring you intro the twenty-first century in a big way and ignite you economy, but you gotta' play nice. Starting now. Don't like Saudi Arabia or Iraq? Fine, neither do we.

Maybe the CIA can publish their proof? The CIA's evidence got the US into Vietnam. Maybe the CIA wants to test some new weapons? Maybe the CIA wants to overthrow the Saudi regime and steal their oil? Why is the CIA involved in this in the first place? And why did the CIA chief go to Turkey to investigate instead of some lackey? So many questions...

I understand a lot of the proof is not ours to publish. I ignore your Vietnam, Weapons, and Oil "questions" for obvious reasons.

The CIA is the department best prepared to deal with investigations in foreign places, and for something with this potential impact, who else would you send to Turkey? Some low level analyst? Jack Ryan?? (Not a bad show, for those with Amazon Prime, BTW)

There really aren't that many questions, if you accept the CIA analysis, which I do...

Nice to see you blindly accept the CIA's findings. I guess Vietnam wasn't your era? How many Americans died needlessly in Vietnam because the CIA reported Vietnam was a threat to the US? And seriously, Jack Ryan? But a Jack Ryan instead of the CIA Chief could have gone to Turkey to investigate although the FBI is more qualified to handle these types of investigation. That is why they put the "I" in FBI.

The FBI (or the CIA) would probably not be welcomed to conduct an actual investigation in Turkey, but if they were, I'd have no problem with sending a unit over there... Haspel went to hear what they had, not to lead any USA investigation.

Unlike the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which is a domestic security service, the CIA has no law enforcement function and is mainly focused on overseas intelligence gathering, with only limited domestic intelligence collection.

    Easy way to remember this

    FBI = USA
    CIA = Not USA
