I believe my thread may have been moved inadvertently, based on a misunderstanding of my question. I'll attempt to restate it, to make my question more clear. Regarding the following portion of the Rules, I am interested in knowing how this policy is in use, on the forum. Again, to clarify, this is not a thread for people to bring in specific complaints about Moderator actions. This is just a thread for Moderators to expound upon a site-wide confusion on one of the rules. This is a question related to the functioning of this site.
silly boy, they have enough posters that they can do as they please and you'll like it or get the F out. simple as that. Hasn't everything they have done proven that what we as posters want mean absolutely nothing to them?
"Cutting and pasting articles along with a commentary is not against the rules" is what I was PM'd after I'd reported one of the hundreds of HuffPo, et al opinion pieces that litter the "current events" sub forum. Perhaps the rules, specifically, "Threads should not be posted in the wrong forum" have changed....or, as I suspect, they're just arbitrarily defined and arbitrarily enforced by an overwhelmed mod staff.
I'm starting to get a little confused by the lack of comment from Moderators. This was brought up about 2.5 days ago now, but I have no responses yet. Could one of the moderators please clarify this rule for us? There seems to be great confusion on the matter, outside of just my own confusion.
Hello? I don't understand. How are we supposed to follow rules if we don't understand them? Why is this such an onerous request?
It's been almost a week since I asked you guys to clarify this. Am I violating a rule by asking for you to clarify the rules? What can I do to get an answer? As somebody who has never been infracted, never been warned, and never violated a rule, being ignored by the moderators on a topic of confusion is very troubling. It's starting to seem like the only way to get a moderator response is by violating the rules. Is this the case? If so, which rules should I violate to not get banned, but still get a response?
FactChecker, either go into the "suggestion box" with your issues, or "report" your OP and ask for a response.
