Was the stagecoach the Ship of Fools?
They all had their morality, sense of "right & wrong"
with the class structure too and "good" people
separating themselves from less good.
But, at the end they all appreciate on another.
It's an apparently common metaphor in film making. Key Largo, Lord of the Flies, Mousetrap, Lifeboat.
Maybe because people do bond when experiencing strife together.
Reality. Not metaphor.
Remember "Japanese Story"
That was only two people and not a lot of people" with issues".
Remember when Steve Martin was actually funny?
(His best film IMHO)
The Elephant Man?
Wilt, because the pork pie scene is amazing
RIP Mel Smith
I've always been fond of the mini-series made from Nevil Shute's classic novel, "A Town Like Alice". I particularly liked Bryan Brown's performance as Joe Harman.
Some people found Steve Martin funny.
I never really liked his type of retardo humour and I never liked Jerry Lewis type of humour either.
Now don't misunderstand, both Steve and Jerry in my opinion, were gifted and very talented performers and actors capable of serious performances, just in general, I never liked their particular styles of comedy.
Mr Smith goes to Washington
If you wonder where Pelosi got the idea lol.
I finished watching Lonesome Dove last night. I understand there are prequel episodes, so I'll have to find out more about how the sequencing works so I can decide if I want to watch any of them.
I consider Leap of Faith by far Steve Martin's best movie, and it was not a comedy.
Home Before Dark a 1958 Warner Brothers drama film, starring Jean Simmons
very good movie, true story of Johann Strauss filmed in 1939. Very good performances by the actors.
True story of Gypsy Rose Lee 1963. More great performances.
A good film from the 90's, seems oddly relevant today.
One of my top 5 favorites of all time. 'An Affair To Remember'.
Kelly's Heroes for the tank scene alone.
Good movie, may watch it again soon.
Everyone knows the best one.
Lots of good movies on this thread, makes me smile. I've seen most of them and some I watch every so often again.
' It's A Wonderful Life ' is not the only movie that can be seen every year. Although a fantastic classic, there are other greats too.
Loved this movie, The Rare Breed.
River Of No Return,
