OK...Ill play....define the intellect of the average Australian voter when it comes to deciding who to vote for.... (ie if they have any....)
I don't measure people on their degree of interest in politics. Doing so would make me pretty stupid - not to mention intolerant, lacking imagination, unable to cope with diversity, unworldly, small minded, and bigoty. And FTR, some of the stupidest people I've ever met were heavily invested in politics. Some are actually politicians - you can't get more invested than that.
Youre avoiding the question, which is defining the intellect of the average Australian voter... Are you suggesting that anyone interested in politics is intolerant, lacking imagination, unable to cope with diversity etc etc....you seem to be.... Can you now define the intellect of the average Australian voter.....
No, I said judging the intellect of others according to how interested they are in politics, would make me an intolerant and small minded bigot. And no, I can't define the intellect of the average Australian voter, because there is no such thing. I know profoundly intelligent scholars who vote Right, and utter halfwit Progressives who vote Left. I know city sophisticates who are stupider than rocks, and rural rednecks who are smarter than me by miles. I know migrants whose concept of intelligence may be quite different to yours, but just as valid. If I were compelled to distill it into something user-friendly, I'd say the following: Someone who pays their own way, is family-oriented and stable, and is kind to their neighbours is a Smart Person. Someone who makes choices contrary to any or all of the above, is a Dumb Person.
