I am making a good case that you should support. The Native tribes were chased by troops intending to kill them. And made promises not kept.
Slaves were conditioned after in Africa in the islands such as Haiti so it was like basic training in our army where men are conditioned to kill others upon orders.
Most of our history ignores that the majority of slaves first were put on the islands and later brought to America.
Slaves in America had been preconditioned to accept life as a slave. Actually the term slave should be defined better.
It is the forcing humans to do things they did not volunteer to do. Worse, not paying them a wage.

When freed, the slaves did not have welfare to support them. They had to do what they best understood, tend to crops in fields. So many of them as freed humans still suffered and had no master willing to feed them or clothe them or even give them shelter.

Should I call you Doctor? I refer to remarks you made in the past.
Powell did not screw up. I defend him on that. General Georges Sada cleared Powell when in his book he explained what happened to Saddam's WMD. Given at the time we lacked much of a presence in Iraq, how could our intelligence be perfect or actually decent. I know the intelligence told Powell to his satisfaction there was WMD. Sada explained it was shipped by Saddam to Syria to protect Saddam. Look today at how many Americans still defend Saddam Hussein.

I am definitely centrist myself. I simply do not comprehend how Trump can be called a radical. I examine his words and find the media is lying about what he says.

It is common I believe that the more famous one is, the more it feeds narcissism.

Here is my assessment of Trump.
Trump brags. Trump wants to elevate his actions to very high status. Perhaps in some cases far too high. I am not fond of braggers. Still they do have elements of truth. When Ali bragged he was the greatest boxer, we must count in his losses of fights. So he bragged and many did not like Ali. But he was still a good boxer.

I was in the Army in the 1960s and even then realized our Generals and Admirals get super educations. Many hold degrees useful in industry. All have the advantage of high ranking officer special schools. Powell was an able General and rose fairly fast but he is not the fastest rising General this nation has had.

Why was General Tommy Franks in charge of Centcom and not Powell? Powell commanded an airborne division for a time but they never went into combat under him.

I see. So what you are saying to me is you are far superior to myself though I am very familiar with history?

It has become so common to see the hospital staff wearing masks that I could be mistaken about this Cardiologist and his student. The policy at the hospital is for all to wear masks. It was my first visit to him and no doubt will see him this month or next after I get the appointment for the stress test. He seemed happy with all that transpired earlier with other cardiologists.

It is a shame that vaccinations are not the be all that we were led to think they are.

This is the spin on his actual comment.
Trump criticized Powell's record on the Iraq War and derided the news media for treating the former secretary of state "so beautifully" after his death.

"Hope that happens to me someday," Trump said.

"He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!" he said.

Trump is among millions who criticized Powell's record on the Iraqi war. Trump took issue with the media.

When Trump dies, the publications will not treat Trump beautifully either. And Trump does not deserve the wrath he gets.

Correct you are. We have nothing in common and I apologize for defending our natives too. Wrong person to try to talk to.

Thanks for the reply. I have type 2 Diabetes and have been told in the past if I drop to around 180 pounds (From 230) I can possibly get off the drugs I take. My AIC results seem stable and not high end from what I know. I only have 2 meals per day and am not hungry. I still plan to get my treadmill put together and start using it. In the course of my days I spend a huge amount of time here on the forum.

It is sad to read a person claiming to be a last American decide the abbreviation was a good one to say.

Long before Obama, Powell, as a somewhat 'Blackish' person, 'set the table' for a new generation of well-spoken, pleasingly attractive "minorities" who, although mediocre by realistic standards were nevertheless 'in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time'.

Inconvenient truth? In the Gulf War, Powell rode on General Stormin' Norman Schwartzkopf's coattails!

I do regret, though, that Powell (or anyone else) dies of blood cancer and/or other complications. So, R.I.P.

Your position is a far different cry than he was responsible for the destruction. :)

I suggest you review what caused the great recession.

General Fred Franks (not related to General Tommy Franks) was miffed at his treatment by Schwartzkopf. So he wrote his own book on the Storm. It is called into the Storm and he and Tom Clancy worked on it.

Best place for me was as an insider. And I am called an expert on this.

    The recession was short actually.

You're right... experts pronounced that the "Great Recession" ended June 2009, barely more than a year after it began.

But the Federal Reserve System has coddled stock markets ever since with crushed interest rates and "Quantitative Easing" scams of different kinds. Now, it's a STUPENDOUS house-of-cards....

It was due to my training and jobs held that I am called an expert on the crash.
I was licensed in CA to own offices brokering real property, had been licensed as a Federal licensed appraiser and also was licensed as a Mortgage Broker. It was my job all the time to stay on top of loans and the marketing of them.

We had suppliers of mortgage money. Most of my dealings were with the very top suppliers of money. The public still does not understand the home loan industry. The press writes up tons of stuff that to the casual reader they figure they get it. But they do not get it.
Dodd Frank really harmed the lending business.

Fortunately or in cases unfortunately when licensed as I was, the state decides to call us experts.

I know this is horribly off-topic, but, please, short-and-sweet, approximately when are the stock markets going into the next BIG "correction"? I don't have any money tied up in today's speculative insane asylum, but I am trying to prepare for life after stocks return to real (REAL) valuations. My uninformed guess? End of Q1 2022... that's when the fantasy bullshit hits the 'reality' fan, and it could make for the worst 'splatter' since the GREAT Depression (the real one). Another way of asking this is, "How much longer can the Fed continue to litter the planet with hundreds of billions in imaginary dollars at near-zero percent interest rates?" :confusion:

Fortunately for Gen. Powell, where he is now, he won't have to worry about the stock market anymore, if he ever did in the first place....

The DP will never abandon it's political/economic model that relies on the exploitation of a poor dependent class. Racial and ethnic minorities have been the primary targets of this malignant system.

"The Houston, Texas, Telegraph was of the opinion that emancipation was certain to take place but that compulsory labor would replace slavery. Since the Negro was to be freed by the Federal Government solely with a view to the safety of the Union, his condition would be modified only so for as to insure this, but not so far as materially to weaken the agricultural resources of the country. Therefore, the Negroes would be compelled to work under police regulations of a stringent character."
BLACK RECONSTRUCTION IN AMERICA 1860- 1880, W.E.B. Dubois, introduction by David Levering Lewis, the Free Press new York 1998. p. 143.

Do you think that a CIA conclusion that Iraq had WMDs justified the invasion of Iraq?
