I'm sure if someone chose not to answer in would be a non-issue.

Why? Do you advertise your sexuality?

    I don't.

what gives them the right to even think it's OK to ask?

I am amazed at the level of intrusion that some are willing to accept. Why is it OK to even be allowed to ask how you engage in sex? To try and justify it that there "might" be scholarships available for those who perform certain sexual acts is too over the top.

What is next, will bestiality groups, or the inflatable doll industry demand to put questions for their sexual acts onto the admissions sheet too? Maybe there are scholarships available for those who use sex toys.

A private institution can ask what they want. You can choose not to apply, it's a (*)(*)(*)(*)ty school anyway.

I don't know. And to be honest I don't give enough of a (*)(*)(*)(*) to research it.

As long as others can do the exact same with Government loans I dont care, so I guess there is no problem with all white scholarships either. I'm just saying it's an odd reason to give a scholarship...sex preference???

It is odd. I doubt it will last for long, or actually happen at all. Most people will probably just not answer the question... I doubt Government loans would be used for such scholarships, more likely private donations.

Rabies victims and mad dogs need special consideration too.

Don't forget reptiles and stock brokers too.

Save the whales and rails and don't forget the puppy dog tails.

I'll help you; the answer is NO

So, businesses, which are private cannot ask applicants or current employees how they have sex so the school must not be allowed either. That's part of the problem with the gay agenda. You don't realize that it's actual discriminatory to try to be identified based upon how you have sex.

This isn't about 'me'. In any case, I think it is okay for a school to 'ask' a student to share that.

No one is FORCED to reveal that information.

then you believe it's also OK for private businesses to ask applicants how they engage in sex? Maybe also ask how old they are, if they are married or if they have children?

Higher ed is a business, please don't lose sight of that.

With few exceptions, no; I don't believe that.

    Irrelevant to the issue, IMO.

I know exactly what I 'see', in this specific case.

Nobody is asking people how they engage in sex.

really??? then you have selective moral outrage I guess.

anything to do with gay is OK as long as in your opinion it pushes forward the agenda.

But, to ask a similar question by employers then that's a no-no or to ask how ald you are or if you have children.

When you remove the blinders from your myopic viewpoint you shall see the entire world.

There is more to life than trying to get others to accept having gay sex.

    THAT... is just plain STUPID!!

There ARE homosexual people who are celibate; just as there are heterosexuals holding to the same status. Come on! Stop making those STUPID ASSUMPTIONS!!

If you don't, you've bought into too many things, IMO.

No. I'm NOT an "anything goes" type of person. Many of my values are exceedingly 'conservative'; though I tend to avoid compelling others to accept my views.

Employer vs. a school? I see a difference (you may not). So be it.

    Thanks for that 'info'.

And I could not agree with you more.

Johnny.. you know by now that I am a Senior with adult children and grandchildren..

Recently I had a physical.. and the doc asked me if I was "sexually active with men or women".. I busted out laughing... because no one had ever asked me that question before.

I do realize that its an honest MEDICAL question, but it just struck me how old fashioned I am..

I don't think the question is legit on a college application.

I know what you mean overall, but I am of the opinion that the schools can use that information to ultimately make things better for ALL students.

    No, they aren't.

If you are asked if you are heterosexual does that tell anyone anything about how you engage in sex? You engage in straight sex, what does that mean? I'm sure the straight community does it in all sorts of different ways.

For the LGB community it is much more about who they choose to have relationships with, some may be sexual, some may not be - just like their straight counterparts. For transgender people it is not even about that because for them it is about gender identity.

    in your opinion

in my opinion your outlook is incorrect so there we are.

As a male, i do everything similar to other males (except my home made sauce and meatballs rock). We listen through our ears, see through our eyes, taste with our tongues, walk with our legs......well, you get the picture.

If i decide that I now want to engage in sex strictly with other men then I am a homosexual. How we have sex is the only thing that differs between us.

With that said, and back to the topic, the school has absolutely ZERO business asking anyone how they engage in sex.
