If you still believe democrats are not trying to rig and fraudulently steal elections, then think again.

Make no mistake the influx at the southern border has all been carefully orchestrated by the democrats to STEAL the election in 2020. THAT is why they're rabidly trying to stop the wall.

All the loophole laws they've been exploiting such as early voting, sanctuary cities, catch and release, issuance of driver's license ID'S, etc. have been implemented specifically for that purpose.

And now to that end they're planning on stealing electoral college votes as well by using those same illegals they're harboring in sanctuary cities. If something isn't done, they're going to succeed and take all three branches.

Guaranteed if that happens, the 2nd amendment will be abolished and gun confiscation will occur so the populace can't fight back like in Venezuela. Afterward, all their socialist programs will be implemented which will completely bankrupt and destroy the economy at which point America will fall.

If something happened to America, who's going to rescue it?

Isn't it always America that's the one leading interventions in other countries?

If, just completely hypothetically, something terrible were to happen in the future, no one is going to be coming to America trying to protect human rights.

Canada has less population than America's most populous state, so they're not going to be able to do anything. Mexico is too poor and can barely take care of their own people.

You have that already. The person with the most votes in each state wins that state. That is how each state decides whom to award their electoral votes to. As a union of the several states, each state is given a say on whom will become president based on the population of each state plus 2 electoral votes for senators. We're a representative republic, not one huge direct democracy.

The constitution gives each state the power in determining how to award its electoral votes. In 1800, only 4 states used the popular vote to determine how their state would award their electoral votes. The remaining 12 states, the state legislature decided. Now the people elected their state representative which in turn voted on whom to award their states electoral votes. It wasn't until after the civil war that all states went to the popular vote.

Nebraska and Maine award their electoral votes different from the other states as they utilize the congressional district method. Which ever candidate wins a congressional district gets that congressional district's electoral vote with the remaining two given to the candidate who had the most votes in their state.

If Colorado wants to join that pact, that's fine with me. I think it is constitutional if their state legislature decides that is how they want to award their electoral votes. I do however think this is a knee jerk reaction to losing the election of 2016. Things like this have a habit of coming back to bite them in the future. I would wager no thought was given by the Democratic controlled Colorado legislature that at sometime in the future that it might be the Democratic presidential candidate that wins in the electoral college and not the popular vote.

The classic example is that after FDR the Republicans pushed through the 22nd amendment to limit the president to two terms, FDR won four. Then low and behold, Eisenhower won in 1952 and could have easily won a third term in 1960 without the 22nd amendment. Ouch!

Fortunately, the US is not a DEMOCRACY. It is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.

    And it is happening again...

The DNC has already decided on who they will spend most of their money on. Perez was already caught on a recording by a reporter in Philadelphia talking about it.

    Wrong!

The REPUBLIC of North Korea also has a Constitution but it is NOT a Democracy when it comes to electing Representatives from different political parties.

America is a DEMOCRATIC Constitutional Republic where We the People DEMOCRATICALLY elect our Representatives from different political parties.

    Therein lies the difference!

It's called a blatant attempt to circumvent the Constitution....

Luckily it's just as futile as it is pathetic, all these states are liberal, they will never sign up enough states with combined 270 electoral votes to activate the law, the red states and battleground states will never sign away their right to participate in elections to NYC, Chicago and LA.

So how would this work? Using Florida 2000 election as an example and if Florida was one of those states to buy into this idiocracy:

If Gore has more popular votes than Bush while Bush has more Florida votes than Gore, Florida would then commit their Electoral College votes to Gore?

They do in each of the 51 elections that are held. Rigging the elections so the person who wins in that state does not get the state electors....PRICELESS!!!

I wonder what the citizens of Colorado will think if their votes are cancelled and their state has to vote for Trump.

That's on us for continuing to re-elect the same basrards over and over again. Congress is at 25% or lower approval but 90%+ will win re-election...

Trump, just prior to his election, was disparaging the electoral college...saying that it was unfair and rigged. Even after his election, he admitted that he felt the popular vote was more fair.

Here's what Trump said to Lesley Stahl about the Electoral College and a national popular vote for President on Sixty Minutes on November 13, 2016:

Stahl: Now for months you were running around saying the system is rigged. The whole thing was rigged. You tweeted once that the Electoral College is a “disaster for democracy.”

    Trump: I do.

Stahl: So do you still think it’s rigged?

Trump: Well, I think the Electoral College. Look I won with the Electoral College.

Stahl: Exactly. But do you think it’s rigged?

Trump: Yes. Some of the election locations are. Some of the system is. Ah.

Stahl: Even though you won, you’re saying that.

Trump: Well, I mean, I’m not going to change my mind just because I won. But I would rather see it, where you went with simple votes. You know, you get 100 million votes, and somebody else gets 90 million votes, and you win. There’s a reason for doing this. Because it brings all the states into play. The Electoral College. And there’s something very good about that. But this is a different system. But I respect it. I do respect the system."

THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE GAVE US TRUMP. The popular vote is the true vote. The ones who are rigging the elections and stealing them are the republicans!! All the problems with voting were created by them and favor them!

Colorado and these other states will be ignored in the general election. There’s no point in campaigning there.

And yet we are not a true Democracy.

There are reasons why only the people that live within the congressional district of the US Representative candidates can vote for that Representative....and yet that Representative represents the whole State.

There are reasons why we have the Electoral College.

The Founders did not want a system where laws were created based on "popular" opinion, as they knew that what is often "popular" is not always "best". They also did not want a system where a few States dictated over all other States. This was a very thoroughly discussed topic and the outcome was a method to prevent disenfranchising some States.

All Colorado (and other States that have gone in this direction) are doing is disenfranchising themselves. It is one thing to declare the Electoral votes go to the candidate that wins the popular vote within the State.....it is completely different to base it off of the winner of the National elections. It might be years before it manifests, but I suspect that one day Colorado might regret this decision.

What's your point? ..... that it was created for a purpose and need that doesn't exist any longer? You're right. So let's get rid of it.
