Colorado proposing a new electoral map that could oust Lauren Boebert (msn.com)

    An interesting development.
Bobert is a GOP newcomer w/ a promising future.
    Perhaps on the national level.
Some will say this Democratic gerrymandering, other will call it un-gerrymandering.
    I will be following this.

I have no doubt the reason AOC flexed her potential primary challenge to Schumer was to make sure her district isn't the one that gets axed in New York. Politics are politics.

Wouldn't she just move deeper in her district?

She does not have to. She can run in the 3rd district, she does not have to live in it.

Lauren Boebert is one of my favorite people right now. She is very popular and hopefully she can keep a seat or kick out a Democrat and take another seat.

I did not know this. In 2020 the Republican party did not do good in CO and Trump lost by 400,000+ votes.

Lauren was a ray of sunshine in the darkness. She actually moved her seat a bit farther to the right since winning.

Or perhaps a ray of darkness in the sunshine.
Depending on how you look at it.

I am as serious as I ever get.
When I was in High school I supported the Keg Party.
Now I just support myself and my friends and family.
As a bass player I support lead instrumentalists and front people.
As far as Boebert is concerned, I think it is cool that she went from working at MacDonald's to owning her own restaurant.
You know, the great American dream.
I do however, regard the gun thing as a lowbrow gimmick.
    But to each his own.
I can still like her and disagree w/ her politics.
I do that w/ a lot of people.
The reason that I started this thread is because I know how it feels to be gerrymandered. It happened to me.
    Cheers!

Well, she has escaped the clutches of the porn industry (thus far). On a personal note that's quite a victory.

Everything I read around here says only republicans engage in gerrymandering.

Anyone who engaged in a drunken evening should be barred from having a career. I think that may be the Australian way but it isn't ours.

Why not? After all many are insisting that a woman who gets pregnant because of a drunken evening……

....should carry to term and engage in adoption if the result isn't wanted. It seems more reasonable than to punish a future human being with a death sentence for someone else's evening.

Both have been known to do it.
But here in Texas it was the Republicans that did it to me.

If this redistricting ends up happening, she's going to have to move her position back towards the center, if she wants to be able to get those Democrat swing votes she will need to be reelected.
Softening her rhetoric however might make her core supporters less enthusiastic about her.

The reality is politicians simply have to adjust their positions and words if they want to maintain a fair chance of getting reelected and not letting the other party grab that seat.
This is something a lot of the public doesn't seem to understand.

This redistricting will squeeze her, ideologically.

I just hate to see good talent going to waste :bye:

To answer your question, as far as I can see there aren't many Republican politicians left. Just MAGA now.
