We've been tracking your energy usage. You are .036 KW above your estimated monthly usage. The Federal fine is double your bill. If you wish to dispute this finding, please fill out the attached form. We will suspend your service until this issue is resolved.

Or, you can quit living in your fantasy land.
the estimated cost of solar is hovering around 20k to get completely off grid for the average family.
How do you expect the average family to afford this when their savings is drained due to higher energy costs...

    Its sickening

    no idea.

you need to introduce better policies.

    I don't pay electricity bills.

    I get paid.

    really well, thanks.

the budget is expected to be back into surplus by 2013, unemployment is running at about half the rate you have, the average wage is $68,500 per year ....

    pretty good really.

Why would you get off the grid? That is silly

Especially since the grid is becoming increasingly powered by wind - and soon, solar thermal with molten salt storage.

You really don't understand this subject at all, do you.

    LMAO

Until "the grid" gets renewable energy prices down to 4 cents a kilowatt hour, you are just playing niche hobbies.

    So..that would be right now:

Solar energy cost hits par with coal fuel
THE cost of solar power in parts of NSW has for the first time crept below that of coal-fired electricity - seen as a key tipping point for the expansion of renewable energy.

The only reason for this is the feed-in-tariff imposed on the utilities which is the 'Solar Bonus Scheme' legislated and then suspended in March by NSW.

The solar industry had to protest to just maintain the status quo.

Why does NSW's sell-back program have to be subsidized in the first place?

    Because coal is heavily subsidised

If there is a single mechanism that stands in the way of clean energy development across the globe it is fossil fuel subsidies, which amount to around half a trillion dollars worldwide, each year. That much has been recognised by the International Energy Agency and by the G20, who have promised to remove them....

The Tamberlin inquiry into the NSW energy privatisation has revealed how far that thinking extended into the strategy behind the state’s half-baked, and half-completed electricity privatisation. In short, it found, the gentrader assets would not have attracted any buyers were it not for a massively subsidised and heavily discounted coal supply. It also found that NSW coal-fired power stations depend on those subsidies to maintain their place in the merit order of the National Electricity Market.

It makes sense to subsidize so-called fossil-fuels as they are standardized, are transportable and most affordable. It does not make sense to subsidize sources of energy with limited applicability (such as solar).

errr...they are most affordable because they are subsidised.

Well - were most affordable. Solar PV is now cheaper than coal. Wind is as cheap as coal. And with the investment that emissions trading will promote - solar thermal with storage will be so much cheaper than coal - we will wonder why we used coal in the first place.
