I have been subjected to that argument and it's not a good one. You are saying "let a person suffer for years" until they turn an arbritary number and then they might have the chance to try to undo the damage. It doesn't work that way. Why are you saying to let a person suffer when treatment will fix the issue?

By giving them proper dosages for treatment instead of half assing it. Don't give a kid a quarter for a $1 bag of chips and say that's enough.

They will still be able to easily pass for either gender they choose.

It's not all "half assing it". Some of this is just delaying things wherever possible.

So you believe simply being androgynous and more on the gender neutral side is "suffering"?

It's not about androgeny, it's about being able to present as the gender you want to express.

"The damage" would be very minimal with this compromise proposal.

Less than half as bad as not getting any treatment.

It would not merely be "half and half", but in some ways would kind of be like combining the best of both worlds.

No it wouldn't. Why would it do anything? It's too weak to stop puberty.

And the trans would be perfectly able to do that.

Did you read the proposed percentages in the opening post?

"A child born a boy that wanted to be a girl would still have to let their body develop into a boy, but only a little bit. Their body wouldn't have to develop fully to a boy in the typical natural way. Maybe the aim could be to block 50 or 60% of their male hormones.
A child born a girl that wanted to be a boy could totally block their development of female-specific traits. Maybe they would only be allowed to take 30% the level of hormones in a typical adolescent male."

So a male would only have to irreversibly become 40% of a male, and a female almost wouldn't have to irreversibly become a female at all, but her body would only be allowed to become 30% of male, which would still be enough to pass as a male if she later wanted to.

And even all of this is not necessarily "irreversible", depending on how you look at it, since we know there are adults who undergo transition.

Actually I used it because I couldn't remember which you were. I only remembered that you are cis gendered.

As you can see, both sides don't seem to be happy about my compromise proposal.
