Israel to rush settler expansion

Israel says it will speed up the construction of Jewish settlements, after the Palestinians won membership of the UN cultural organisation Unesco.

 

That's very convenient. There will be five million returning Palestinian refugees needing a roof over their heads.

 

It must be frustrating for Israel to build without being in contact with the future inhabitants, being unable to know where exactly the mosque should be constructed. But, it is still, nevertheless, very kind and generous for Israel to construct for homes for foreign nationals in their nation. Maybe Israel will be kind enough to build a house for me too in Switzerland? A beach resort in Hawaii would be acceptable too, but I wouldn't mind Israel constructing a hotel for me in Tripolis either. Are these donations being made with generous US tax dollars?

I notice, with their usual arrogance, self-obsession and misplaced sense of entitlement due to US backing they also say: ....The new homes will be built in East Jerusalem and the West Bank settlements of Efrat and Ma'ale Adumim. "All of the mentioned areas are ones that would remain in Israeli control under any future peace agreement," prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu's office said.

Notwithstanding the fact that settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank are illegal under international law...isn't it good of them to let the Palestinians know that negotiations are not....and never have been an option..all that is available is Israeli dictat!

 

It isn't just about Science, Education and culture. UNESCO is a UN organisation for states, members of UNESCO do not need to be members of the UN but they do need to be a state. Palestine is now officially recognised as a state by the UN and as such are automatically entitled to join the ICC, doesn't even need a vote.

 

Palestine cannot be responsible for internal security while Israel controls it. The Gazans are resisting Israel because of Israeli control. Remove the necessity for resistance (Israeli occupation and settlement expansion), and the resistance will cease.
I guess that's too simple for Israelis and their supporters to comprehend.

 

Snake what exactly has to be removed? As you know what is one man's occupation is not the same for another...the devil is in the detail.

But now the UN recognises Palestine as a state they have the automatic right to join the ICC. Then anyone who commits an international crime on Palestinian soil can have a warrant issued against them and all ICC members would be obliged to arrest them should they enter their country.

Britain is a member of the ICC. Israel and America didn't join because of all the international crimes they commit.

Come on think about it..... Your position is starting one step behind the facts. The reason for the expansion is because the repeated attacks "to destroy Israel" which have been going on since the decision was made to create Israel. Expansion in the face of aggression means greater security for the main population areas. If the aggression stopped against Israel THEN you'd see true peace. It should be obvious since all Israeli actions are reprisals or security related but I guess Palestinian cheerleaders are too blinded by fanaticism to think for themselves.
