Conservative Max Boots: The Worst President. Ever.
“Until now, I have generally been reluctant to label Donald Trump the worst president in U.S. history. As a historian, I know how important it is to allow the passage of time to gain a sense of perspective. Some presidents who seemed awful to contemporaries (Harry S. Truman) or simply lackluster (Dwight D. Eisenhower, George H.W. Bush) look much better in retrospect. Others, such as Thomas Jefferson and Woodrow Wilson, don’t look as good as they once did,” he wrote. “So I have written, as I did on March 12, that Trump is the worst president in modern times — not of all time. That left open the possibility that James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, Warren Harding or some other nonentity would be judged more harshly. But in the past month, we have seen enough to take away the qualifier “in modern times.” With his catastrophic mishandling of the coronavirus, Trump has established himself as the worst president in U.S. history.”

“Trump is characteristically working hardest at blaming others — China, the media, governors, President Barack Obama, the Democratic impeachment managers, everyone but his golf caddie — for his blunders. His mantra is: “I don’t take responsibility at all.” It remains to be seen whether voters will buy his excuses,” continued before pronouncing, “But whatever happens in November, Trump cannot escape the pitiless judgment of history.”

You can read the whole piece here.

Max Boots is stating the obvious. World's Laughingstock Donnie is a corrupt, incompetent, and immoral president. And now, with the Obama Recovery gone, Plutocratic Socialist Donnie even can't brag about the economy. So Lying Donnie will rely on what he is world-famous for: LYING.

As the bodies start stacking up I predict that more and more conservatives will find the courage to denounce this sham of a president.

They will have no choice. They were fine with the bumbling idiot while the markets soared, but the one true test of a president is how they handle a crisis.

On that front, Trump has shown himself to be so totally unprepared, overwhelmed, and in over his head.

I almost feel sorry for him. Not quite, but almost.

Nice opinion piece. Obama "trumps" Trump.
How terrible, he boosted unemployment numbers to record lows, across the board. That bastard! How dare he put people to work and improve the economy!

I heard Trump grew coronavirus himself in a jar that he keeps where MLKs bust used to be before Trump threw it out on the WH lawn where he cooks and eats babies dressed as Hitler. With bigfoot.

Reasonable people will recognize his absolute and total failure to address this pandemic at a federal level at a time that it would have mattered.

Instead he was boasting about his TV ratings.

Once a game show host, always a game show host.

He stuffed the economy (the national credit card) by 'putting people to work.' A mirage, a temporary image all designed to make him get the second term, and then leave with the US totally financially stuffed. But all that is off topic so I'll leave that right there.

Libs...and their delusions. Your party is shrinking and while Trump hasn't been perfect through the crisis, he at least reacted even while the entire democrat party couldn't get their eyes off an impeachment farce that everyone (even them) knew was pointless. The biggest problem of all for them is that at the time of the election, what will be needed is someone that knows the market and whom the market trusts. You have Bernie, who wants to destroy our economy or Biden who doesn't remember what office he's running for. Face it, Trump's already won, best to concentrate on trying to maintain a majority in the house and maybe picking up some senators. I doubt they can, but it is way more feasible than defeating Trump when the #1 issue is going to be the economy.

Wow, new info on a developing situation, developed. Therefore, blame Trump for the deaths.....
I'm not sure how you make that, logical leap into the illogical.

They made it so that the unemployed will make more than they did working. Of course, they did that to keep the unemployment numbers high (manufactured bad press for Trump.)

What can they do, given at a Federal level they are politically outnumbered.

Their input and agreement is needed for any bill. What have they done besides money for the Kennedy center (who promptly laid off their employees?) They also should very much be involved in communicating and lobbying for their individual constituencies. Instead, we get another crap investigation of Trump.

Work with the majority to get things done, instead of trying to push some Green ND garbage in the aid package.

Oh, you mean ..... bare their asses to the Republicans? Nah. They too were elected on their platforms. They too, have a mandate. What has been put to the House about this nasty that the House has denied?

There are threads aplenty on it. They would not vote to get the aid rolling UNLESS there boatload of totally unrelated, agenda items were inserted. Surely you have seen the threads or watch the news?
