    Explain.
    Ill give an example.
Saladin takes jerusalem women and children are spared, crusaders take it and all muslims are killed.

Do you truly believe that? It was the Crusader's cruelty that poisoned relationships between Western Christians and Eastern Orthodox Christians, Muslims, and Jews for centuries. Back in 2000, Pope John Paul II, on behalf of the Roman Catholic Church, asked forgiveness for wrongs committed during the Crusades.

The existence of groveling Christians does not mean that Crusades were not done in retaliation for years of Muslim aggression. Read the above post.

Has anyone ever heard of the Battle of the Talas River? What were the Muslim Arabs doing in Central Asia fighting Tang Dynasty Chinese? The Chinese refused to convert so the Arabs forced the Chinese to fight.

The proof is in the pudding, dear. Perhaps when the so called "moderate" muslims cleanse their religion and their ranks of extremists and terrorists (or at the very least start trying) your words can be taken seriously. So far they seem to be busy explaining, justifying and excusing the actions of their extremist brethren, providing them with tacit and often explicit support, political cover and PR instead.

Don't mind him. He obtains most of religious/historical information from bigoted hate sites, as he has clearly demonstrated below....

Perhaps, that was a bad choice of words. He wasn't impressed by what happened. He wanted to know more about why a group of Muslims would do something terrible like that.

He came to realize that only extreme Muslims support these murderous actions and that the Islam most Turks practice is a Western-friendly interpretation. He was also drawn to the archaeological sites there.

I think that's exactly right. You can't fight something with nothing. The West believes in nothing (currently) so by default a religion that can inspire real devotion in its followers can be very attractive to many people.

Secular humanism is just a way station between one religion and another, and I say that sadly as a secular humanist.

I'm not a religious person, but I'm not going to identify as a "secular humanist", simply because the left created the term.

I've decided to take that term from them.

They are not going to need it for long anyway after they convert.

    Enlighten me, please!
I know Larry David is a comedian (and a very good one, Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of HBO's best shows, IMO). He's certainly Jewish, a fact that is part of many of his jokes, but in how far is he a Zionist?
Gee, I don't even think he's a Republican. That episode where he and Cheryl try to get membership in the WASP-countryclub after Larry got kicked out of his golf-club, is hilarious.
And of course there's also the Palestinian restaurant one:[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WznZbYxwmY&feature=player_detailpage"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WznZbYxwmY&feature=player_detailpage[/ame]
