My point is there were multiple criminal investigations from the Justice Department and the USCP. The fact that there is a document showing that officer Byrd did not make a statement to the MPDC in January of 2021 is no indication that he was not interviewed by investigators from the Justice Department, or the USCP.. or that was not interviewed by the MPDC at a later date.

Individuals that are implicated in committing a crime together resulting in bodily injury or death are often charged as being an accessory at minimum or the same as the one that caused said injury.

Well Ms. Gritz is welcome to her opinion, but is overruled by three investigations into the matter.

Her claim that Lt. Byrd endangered anyone else, IMHO, disqualifies her. For anyone else to have been endangered by Lt. Byrd's shot they would have had to be hanging from the ceiling.

As far as the immediate threat angle goes, Ashlie Babbitt was armed with an angry mob of co-insurrectionists that would have definitely followed her through the breach, overwhelmed Lt. Byrd and attacked Congress, which IS the justification for his shot.

It is additionally noteworthy that the only death in this one riot of our many recent riots was incurred by the rioters.

While I don't consider myself "left" or "right", I cannot help but observe that if Ms Babbet had been a Black participant in one of the numerous far deadlier and more destructive BLM - Antifa riots that her death would have quickly yielded numerous monuments, street names and additional riots rather than claims that she got what she deserved.

Briefly put, I feel that the "left" / Democrats have both inflated the 6 January riot's severity and are currently using the "insurrection" hearings as a diversionary tactic to steer America's attention away from Biden's failed Democratic policies.

These fatally flawed policies are evident at our Southern border, lingering in Afghanistan, plaguing our nation, eroding the validity of our voting system and generally ruining our country.

Let's be honest with ourselves; if the rioters of 6 Jan. had really wanted to overthrow our democratic process, they would have been better organized and more heavily armed than with sticks and stones.

One doesn't need to read questionably manufactured and politically motivated indictments to know that murdering unarmed civilians is wrong or that the Jan. 6 rioters had no firearms needed to effect a real insurrection.

Historically, real insurrections have involved firearms, organization and a clearly defined objective. Without all three all you've got is a simple riot that's been grossly inflated and crassly exploited by Democrats to obfuscate their failed agenda.

No, I do not condone the actions of the 6 Jan. rioters nor do I like Trump but I resent the selective outrage demonstrated by Democrats who misrepresent simple looting, mugging and vandalism as somehow a noble "struggle for racial justice".
