    Hello there, fellow peasants!

With world leaders (minus the ones in China and Russia) and well-heeled Climate culties jetting into Glasgow to put on the Jesus Christ Pose at the COP26 United Nations Climate Change Conference, it's time for us working class schlubs who don't get a seat at the table to peer through the window at this year's carnival of hypocrisy and phony pretenses:

Hmm....where have I heard that "Lower your expectations" line recently?

Brendan O'Neill is right - this is worse than Versailles, and Joel Kotkin, author of The Coming of Neo-Feudalism: A Warning to the Global Middle Class explains why:

What's happening in Glasgow (and Davos) is hardly surprising. What's astonishing is that there are tens if not hundreds of millions of credulous lower and middle class saps around the world cheering it on.

You know who climate change will hurt the most? The poor who don't have the means to deal with it. What will it take for such people to realize this, that it's not the "elites" trying to gaslight them but the fossil fuel industry and conservative accomplices? Will they even get it if they're underwater? I guess it'd still be natural climate shifts no matter what happens, huh? Even something as straightforward as tobacco causing cancer took awhile to get past industry bullshit. Lots more excuses available with climate change, so maybe things will just have to get bad before people get it

all this carbon for just one person to poop in his pants and to literally fall asleep during the conference.

I guess Zoom calls don’t work the way they used to.

We all know who's doing the gaslighting here.

Self-appointed eco-socialist messiahs who breathlessly claim we're all going to be dead by 2031 if we don't surrender our freedom and our cash to them NOW.

Unfortunately for climate culties, one of their grand poobahs at the UN gave away their game a long time ago:

Of course, this isn't the first time "progressives" have tried "to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution". They tried to do it during the 20th Century and it was a spectacular disaster.

The actions by the hypocritical elites just might be enough to make any self respecting global warming alarmist suicidal. When is the left going to realize it’s all a money making hoax? The guy whose company sold the paint to LA so they can paint their streets white made a fortune.

Hypocrite airways? Jeff Bezos's £48m Gulf Stream leads parade of 400 private jets into COP26 including Prince Albert of Monaco, scores of royals and dozens of 'green' CEOs- as huge traffic jam forces empty planes to fly 30 miles to park

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' £48million Gulf Stream has led a 400-strong parade of private jets into COP25 including Prince Albert of Monaco, scores of royals and dozens of 'green' CEOs - as an extraordinary traffic jam forced empty planes to fly 30 miles to find space to park.

Some environmental activists at the COP26 climate conference will be urging others to cut down on air travel and eat less meat, but apparently it is fine for billionaires to fly in on their own planes on routes already served by commercial airlines.

Meanwhile, as the super rich were whisked away into waiting limos, hundreds of less fortunate delegates were left unable to get to Glasgow after brutal storms crippled rail links, forcing travellers to sleep on the floor of Euston station in London.

Then why does our capitalist system have such low home ownership rates compared to communist and socialist countries like China Russia and even Cuba and virtually all of the former Soviet bloc countries.

Good point, and this conference probably accelerated our impending doom by a full year.

NOW WE'RE ALL GOING TO BE DEAD BY 2030!

Don't think I've heard the dead by 2031 thing, mostly that if we don't make a change by then the world will be worse off in such a way that many will die. Mostly poor people.

The other claim, that person isn't exactly the final word on.. anything really. And she didn't say what they said she said. I don't know that "economic development model" necessarily means capitalism in general. But let's assume she thinks capitalism or globalism has externalities that hurt people, that still isn't her saying she doesn't think climate change is real. And if she didn't think it was real, that still wouldn't make it fake. It's the scientific process that I trust.

There is the element of pure, unregulated capitalism where you **** on everybody else as long as you make a profit, screw tomorrow's people at all that. I'm not against capitalism, but it's a tool, not a religion. And there's no reason capitalism can't take a major role in promoting change. Some companies have already started moving in that direction. But there are some companies (and some socialist countries) that have an interest in burning fossil fuels until they're gone, and misleading us until they do. And since they will, someday, be gone. Why not move on before THAT crisis hits?

Great article to warn of the folly of what’s going on there. The irony is that coal and coal companies are booming in the stock market now.

That was the 12 years that socialist loon Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) gave the world unless we address climate change - and forget the cost, of course.

And who do you think is going to get hurt by the costs, whether they be increased taxes and fees, higher energy prices, lost jobs, etc. - the rich? Mostly poor people (and the middle class and those ejected from the working class).

That person was the Executive Secretary of U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, and I understand what she said. I also understand that for the people who are pushing this agenda it's about power and control.

I don't know anyone who thinks capitalism is a religion and is advocating this imaginary "pure, unregulated capitalism where you **** on everybody else as long as you make a profit, screw tomorrow's people at all that". I also don't know of anyone who has a problem with individuals, groups, companies and utilities switching to solar, electrical and nuclear (preferably Thorium power) on their own initiative for whatever reason they see fit. Furthermore, I think everybody supports common sense environmental policies and practices, but that's not what this - especially the "Green New Deal" here in America - is about.

Could you expand on the bold part I highlighted please?

In the Cretaceous period, co2 was 2,400ppm+ and temperatures some 4c greater than today. The only reason this is of interest, is that dinosaurs flourished in those conditions.

So what do you mean by bad? And when?

Old-timer this may be news to you but Russia and China are neither communist or socialist any more. This country is more socialist than both Russia and China.

Russia is straight up capitalism with some safety net social programs....like we were before LBJ **** the bed. China is a crony-capitalism facist/socialist hybrid. It's private ownership and pure capitalism unless the government decides otherwise....just like here in many instances. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac control 80% of the housing market in the country...and was private until big brother government took them over and still refuse to release them from conservatorship. The government has stolen over $190 billion from shareholders over the last 14 years and pissed it away on 'programs' AKA socialism. Nationalization of private companies is the same thing China does when it feels like it.

So just to be clear, the US Government is controlling 80% of private home ownership.....so there is your answer. Maybe if the government hadn't nationalized home ownership then we'd have higher home ownership rates. You should research why BlackRock is buying up houses.

'Underwater'... you do know the earth has been ice free many times in the past and there was still plenty of dry land (and flourishing life on it), right?
