There are multiple sources for the fact that DeSantis has watched his approval rating crater over the last several weeks as Florida has experienced record breaking daily case and death counts.

But CNN is a perfectly reasonable source for that news or any other news of the day.

That was a lot of responses but cnn still sux. Sorry.

I speak to friends. Relatives, customers about the virus and its working impact every single day, how it has changed things and such.

Nobody complains about the governor, they might complain about masksless idiots. Mask nazis, how hot it is with outside dining, etc, schools. But the governor, generally were fine with, hes been doing a good job.

    A) Reliance on your personal interactions to determine popularity of a political figure will give you a very skewed idea.

    B) Reliance on your personal interactions and the notion that they are not actively complaining about him will give you an inaccurate idea.

He's just like Trump. Always behind the curve. When that happens people die.

    Agree and disagree.

Talking to real people in having real conversations about their opinions is absolutely a terrific way to get a pulse on current events. I certainly don't live in an echo chamber just because I avoid the extreme left opinionated pisspots into my social life, I avoid the hard right pisspots as well, I get along with moderates and my conversations are more fruitful than 900 people selecting 1-5 mostly dissatisfied vs mostly satisfied.

There are more nuances than that and I would hope you can respect the integrity of one on one interaction outside of the social media circles. I've done those polls and I've reviewed a few, not a real fan because they are too black & white with no context.

People like or dislike a governmental response to any crisis based on how it impacted them or those close to them personally. Many times it's a single issue they dislike or that they were turned off by one statement.

The real response from moderates is "meh" to the govt actions with sympathy for the less fortunate but more about keeping their own crap together not blaming anyone.

    That's my take at least.

Nah. Were doing fine enough here in FL, not perfect but nobody else has been either.

Give it time, the wave will move around the states, it's doing it now then you can bark at the poor response elsewhere.

Wave got to keep churnin' until science finally has something to offer that works in the realm of prevention. Mask, distance, washy might help a little, but these are mainly just to convince people that something is being done right now this very instant.

I do the mask, distance, washy because I think it might help a little. And something, even if it ain't a much, is better than nothing.

Yip, in addition, working in improving immune system, limit errands, don't go to parties, limit throwing coffee in someone's face to once weekly, all contribute a few % points as well. So much is personal responsibility.

Maybe the mask doesn't work as well as you think it works?

Every case results from a test.
