Coronavirus: Stanford doctors among leaders of global anti-lockdown

Interesting stuff coming from these doctors and scientists at Stanford university. This shutdown should have ended long ago.

Of course there is no real way to protect "at risk" folks if everyone else is walking around with the virus.

Oh and we keep hearing that lockdowns were only supposed to alleviate pressure on hospitals. That was false. There was much more to it than that but guess what?

With the opening of schools and easing restrictions on bars and restaurants and general sloppiness in mitigation...the virus is roaring back and hospitals are again becoming overwhelmed.

Are you sure about that? That certainly is how it always seemed here. After Italian Doctors and Nurses started crying about having to just leave over 65's with pain medication to die is when the West seriously started thinking about lockdowns. The Tory Government in the uk and your Governement with Trump wanted Herd immunity. I read several times that that was why they decided on lockdown so I am the person who says that. I am not convinced the motivation was anything else....but when Johnson and friends were told that there likely would be 400,000 deaths in the UK without a lockdown, they decided that that was probably more than the British people would accept and moved to lockdown. ..so numbers of death and keep hospitals not overwhelmed seemed to be the reason

Now I think there is as much motivation over 'long covid' as over keeping older people and those with co-morbidies from dying. This is a novel virus, we have not seen it all and there is no evidence which suggests that with this virus 'herd immunity ' is even possible. Most people apparently lose antibodies within 10 weeks to a few months,but for those who go on to develop 'long covid' and if as I have heard a third of people who get covid have these, there is another serious reason to want to keep most people free of it until we find a way of neuteralising it.

There is also the possibility that people who have had covid once may get it again. We know this but there has just recently been a case of someone getting it much worse the second time round. Thist was something someone I was following at the beginning thought was a possibiity because when they made a vaccine for Sars 1, instead of helping people not to get it. it made them worse.

 

I heard they were being financed by I suppose it is now the Koch Brother. Bit similar to how so many were fooled re climate disaster.

No one of any integrity has supported this and its fakery was exposed as soon as it tried to present itself.
