They have a right to set their pay where they like. It is government that has no business telling them how they should do it.

Governments job should be to improve the lives of all those they govern not just a select few.

I only bought 2 packs of batteries. On my way to the batteries, I found some books for my niece, a case of coffee pods, and some motion activated lights for the hallway. After I got the batteries, I found a bottle of scotch and a few bottles of the wine my wife likes. Since I am bringing home wine, I might as well cook her a nice dinner to go with it, so I bought some steaks to throw on the grill. Some treats for the dogs, snacks for the kids, etc.

I never make it out of the store under $300.

Wages go up, so must prices. The only one getting a raise is the greedy tax man.

According to todays Marketwatch COSTCO has 180,000 employees. Doof I guess you prefer the starving masses??? The taxman is your government, who's responsibility is to help care for ALL OF THEIR CITIZENs.

I have some ideas about how to stop prices rising. The government simply needs to stop printing money in a wanton manner.

Very few. About one quarter of the Costco workers work in California where the prevailing wage is much higher. Only about one fifteenth of the Sams Club workers work in California.

What it amounts to is that a Sams Club worker is just as likely to be paid a livable wage as a Costco worker because of where they work.

Walmart just raised approximately 425,000 of their 1.2 million workers pay to average $15 an hour, although their minimum hourly pay rate stays at $11 per hour. I don't know if this includes their Sam's Club employees.

Coffee pods are very environmentally unfriendly because of 1) the coffee and 2) the pods. https://www.ecoandbeyond.co/articles/coffee-pods-bad-for-the-environment/

Not even gonna go into the steaks.

I've never been in a Costco before and have neither Costco nor Sams around me. Somehow we survive :)

I have been a Vegan (Diet) going on 20 years now. One of my kids adopted my diet and the rest at least agree limit animal products. To maintain peace and harmony in my household, I make them tri-tip from time to time. I don't even throw red paint on them afterwards. :p

Coffee pods are for our camping trip. At home, we have a machine that grinds and makes espresso, coffee. I do realize that the name "ecco pods" is misleading.

Also, I have never allowed insecticides/herbicides to be sprayed on my property. I find that peppermint and rosemary oils keep bugs away.

I am not a full Vegan as I wear a whole cows worth of leather when I race motorcycles. :)

prices go up because of raises wholly unconnected to productivity and rules and regulations wholly unconnected to reality.

And if you want people to buy whatever you produce a significant number of the public must earn enough to afford it.

Did you buy a really long extension cord at costco to stretch from the ranger station to the tent to run your nespresso? if not, you need to go back.

This reminds me of a story I heard long ago. A farmer argued publicly against raising the minimum wage. He put on a good show about struggling farmers. But, what no one knew was that he paid his help very well. $30/hr for unskilled agricultural work. He paid so well because he thought that you get what you pay for—the cream of the crop.

Costco obviously values it's employees more than Walmart values there's.

You are ignoring the higher cost of living locations where Costco operates their stores. If they paid what Walmart pays, they would not get the needed employees.
