And the security guard looked at me and no doubt thought silly old bastard, but even so ushered me to the front of the queue and thus got me out of the shop as soon as possible.

I have actually got hay fever as a result of the current heatwave, but now that I have loaded up on Lavazza coffee, cream and almond biscotti I should be able to self isolate on my allotment for the afternoon.

In times of crisis, one should organise the luxuries first :)

We have these preferential shopping times for people that work for the NHS here - usually an hour before the shop opens only NHS worker can get in before all others can get their mitts on stuff. My Wife went to Tesco yesterday morning at 9.00am (only one person can go at a time) which was the start of the 1 hour window and it took her 45 minutes to get in and that was for the NHS workers - the queue for the non-NHS workers literally disappeared out of sight; the guard out front said that that was usual and it can take up to 2-3 hours for them to get in.

Tesco's is definitely losing the plot. If Jack Cohen were still running the place the Covid 19 would be piled high and on sale for 10% off, but the current management are mere shadows of the great man.

Wow... we've got it good here in Oz, someone cleaned my trolley handle for me before I entered the shop, received a nice friendly smile from one of the people standing at the front. Made my way around the isles in my usual leisurely fashion... agonised over the lemon with zest tacos or the smokey chicken... the only isle that was empty was flour...went to pay, was told to pack my own groceries and had a good chat with the checkout guy while doing so... paid and strolled out.

.....Brits like to suffer so we can invoke the Dunkirk Spirit - just like our grandparents had it with evacuations and rationing in WWII....we thrive on hardship and adversity......not......:)o_O

I noticed coughing and sneezing the first 2 time I had to go out.
This week, I didn't see anyone coughing or nothing; made me think that everyone was asymptomatic now lol, but I noticed it.
    Still a danger.
I write this from London and they said it was 2 weeks before the rest of the country, I just assumed everybody saw people with symptoms out before like I did, but this thread now makes me remember that I didn't see anyone do that this week/last Tuesday, and maybe I was wrong to assume that people also had that when they went out 2 weeks ago.

    IDK.

    speak for yourself there lol,
The Greatest were the ones who fought in that war, the laziest generation was the one that proceeded it, those Baby Boomers, I'm a generational throwback Generation X'er born late 1986 so am a 1986/87 guy...
    But my parents are old.
They're the socialist Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie Generation, those Baby Boomers, IDK; parents of my peers are like Generation X to my fellow Millennial true 90's Kids, (that's my generation in the raised in my era sense) but Generation X to me, act like my brothers and sisters and I'm the baby of some really old really big family.

History Channel said the end of the world would begin when the last of the greatest/WWII combat fighting generation dies off, but hey, that's History Channel for you.

went today, only 1 person was coughing, which is 1 more than last week.

Also, I didn't see any ambulances speeding past today.

The new norm' for going to Tesco.

I don't even know why, but Iceland wasn't open today (UK supermarket chain, not the country with the same name).
