Could a Republican please explain to me what they mean by "Perjury Trap"?

Is it that Trump is a pathological liar who can't help himself but lie? Or is it that the President of the greatest Superpower the World has ever known cannot be trusted to answer questions without the supervision of an adult?

    Really.... what does it mean?

It means asking the same question a dozen times in hopes to get a slight variation in the answer just once. That line of questioning could indite a ham sandwich if allowed to go on long enough.

How do you get any variation when you're telling the truth?

    How long is "long enough"?

That would be a perjury trap...and that's NOT what is going to happen.'

The fact is ...Trump can't tell the truth because the truth would get him impeached.

Because ask 10 people to recount the same event and you will get 10 different stories.

A perjury trap means that you don't have proof of a crime so you grill the person until they mess up and give you a crime. It's illegal the 4th circuit is trying to crack down on it but prosecutors are opposed to reforms because ... get this ... 'it would chill vigerous prosecution because of fear of prosecutors committing process crimes.'

Talk about the pot and the ****ing kettle.

Really? And, of course, the President of the United States of America is not to be bothered with grilling questions before his tea time, right? It would mess up this tanning schedule, wouldn't it!

He could ask Hillary, who was grilled for 11 hours.... guess what? No perjury!

I see.. I didn't think of your alternative: Trump is too wishy washy to be bothered with questions.

You kinda wonder, how Hillary could stand 11 hours, and they couldn't get her to say "a little humid"

She was actually better at smashing electronics with hammers when asked to turn them over. Congressional hearings often have no teeth though. Eric Holder is still charged with contempt of Congress. How'd that work out?

He was cleared of any wrongdoing. It's what happens when you do nothing wrong. Is Trump incapable of meeting that standard?

No perjury? She lied her ass off to Congress. The DOJ simply won't prosecute.

The Attorney General. Are you trying to change the subject? Not biting... This is far bigger than withholding some documents from Congress. So don't try to hold your political opponents to an immensely higher standard than you hold your own idol. That is hypocrisy beyond hypocrisy. Not to mention anti-patriotism. Which, I guess, is the norm among White Supremacists... But not (yet) mainstream.

    o_O Who? Lynch?
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced Thursday he is resigning as soon as a replacement is found, though he and the Justice Department still face contempt of Congress charges that will linger well after he officially gives up the office.

Analysts said Mr. Holder — the first sitting Cabinet official ever to face a contempt citation from Congress will likely duck any legal punishment, though his department will soon be forced to begin turning over the documents he withheld, which sparked the initial fight. It’s just the latest in a series of stormy disputes that have defined his turbulent six-year tenure.

    Not exactly an exoneration. :roflol:

It means if trump has to answer more than a few questions he is sure to lie.

    Clinton had to give blood.

It's simply not profitable to argue with with ideologues with an adopted demigod (Trump).

WHO was AG at the time? The same one who knew the FBI was not going to charge Clinton with gross negligence in security matters? Yeah, that one!

How could you manage to go through life and not know?

Principle: What was the color of the kid who you saw shoot the spitball at the teacher while her back was turned.

    Student: Black.

Student: Black, and he had cornrows.
