Daniel Hoffman was CIA station chief who spent 5 years in Moscow. Here's his take on the Russian collusion question. I'm not a Trumper by far, but I do think this explanation makes sense. The Russians were trying to disrupt our democracy, and this is just part of how they are doing it. We took the bait, and are helping them succeed.
