I created this thread for members to recount the brain-dead Covid crappola they've had to navigate trying to live their daily lives.....here's MY latest: Bowing to the realities of age I decided it was time to get eyeglasses, I picked an Optometrist out the hat and on the way to get groceries stopped to make the appointment. They required a mask (big whoop) which I dutifully wore. Outside the entrance were several cheapo chairs which I paid little heed to. I made the appointment for the next day and returned at the designated time. The parking lot was deserted save for a few cars, staff obviously. I went in (with my trusty mask on) to register my arrival...NOW the fun begins. I was requested to wait outside (the cheapo chairs) and being the good citizen did so, noticing on the way out a large, EMPTY waiting room. Now I'm BACK outside sitting in the BLAZING Sun.....after my business was done the LOGICAL question arose; IF it's so damned dangerous to have me wait INSIDE, IN AN EMPTY WAITING ROOM, THEN HOW THE HELL IS IT ANY LESS SO TO THEN BRING ME IN, WALK ME THE LENGTH OF THE BUILDING, PUT ME IN AN EXAM ROOM, DO THE EXAMINATION (35 MINUTES), WALK THE SAME WAY OUT, PAY (CASH), THEN WALK THROUGH THE OPEN ENTRANCE TO THE FRAME SHOP AND SPEND ANOTHER 25 MINUTES CHOOSING FRAMES??? I know nothing of Covid's actual fatality rate but I've SEEN it's ability to turn otherwise critically thinking people into blank-eyed, slack-jawed zombies who'd step in the path of a speeding train if it were "deemed necessary" to deal with dread Covid. So fellow members, regale us with one of YOUR descents into the daily Twilight Zone of Covid hysterics. :)

The "waiting room" is where the virus is lurking waiting to infect someone. Didn't they tell you?

It's still hard to beat that you have to wear your masks while walking through the doors of a restaurant, after which no one has to wear their masks inside for an hour while they eat, then you have to put your masks back on to walk out the doors of the restaurant. Moral of the story: You can't possibly catch Covid with your mask off for an hour inside the restaurant but that doorway area is EXTREMELY dangerous.

Joesnagg, what happened? You had to wait for your appointment outside the building? That makes sense if I read it correctly. The longer you're in the exam room the longer you can leave your COVID cooties or pick up somebody else's COVID cooties.

I fell and hit my head on my bathroom sink in January. My eye was swollen for several days and my vision was messed up when the swelling went down. I had to go to the ER and they referred me to an ophthalmologist. His office did the same thing.

I was talking to a friend last week and mentioned that I'm sick of taking COVID tests. She asked me why I was doing that and I explained that it is REQUIRED for every doctor I see who is NOT my PCP. GI, vision, outpatient surgery, pain clinic, etc. I have to go 48 hours before each appointment, take a test and wait. If they call me, the test came back positive and they cancel the appointment.

I am also required to wear their mask. At each location, I am instructed to take off my mask and put on a new one. Once you go to your vehicle and come back in, you have to get another one each time (ie. if you have to drink something for a scan and wait 30-45 minutes).

We are also required to wear masks in all businesses open to the public. Our Governor mandated it but the fines go to the business owner, not the customers so they all have signs up that read "Do NOT enter without mask. You will be sent away" or something to that effect.

P.S. Dude use paragraphs please. My eyes are getting old too. ;-)
