A new FBI report found that violent crime has decreased by 15.2% under Biden, but while president, Trump oversaw the largest spike in the murder rate in a century.

    https://www.politicususa.com/2024/0...fter-murder-rate-skyrocketed-under-trump.html

According to the FBI’s quarterly crime statistics report released on Monday, “The Quarterly Uniform Crime Report (Q1), January-March, 2024, provides a preliminary look at crime trends for January through March 2024 compared to January through March 2023. A comparison of data from agencies that voluntarily submitted at least two or more common months of data for January through March 2023 and 2024 indicates reported violent crime decreased by 15.2 percent. Murder decreased by 26.4 percent, rape decreased by 25.7 percent, robbery decreased by 17.8 percent, and aggravated assault decreased by 12.5 percent. Reported property crime also decreased by 15.1 percent.”

Pew Research analyzed two sets of governmental data on murder between 2019 and 2020 and found, “The U.S. murder rate rose 30% between 2019 and 2020 – the largest single-year increase in more than a century, according to data published this month by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The findings align with a separate tabulation of the nation’s murder rate published in September by the FBI.”

LoL, I still don't expect facts to get in the way of MAGAs false narratives.

Now, this is a misleading report, because the jump in crime rate in 2020 was obviously caused by the covid pandemic, and not be Trump. And the drop from the covid-inflated crime numbers under Biden was caused by the pandemic coming to an end:

In any case, it is important to debunk the narrative that crime was low under Trump and is high under Biden. However, this debunking should be done with long term data, not cherry picked dates, like in this article, that make Trump look bad and Biden look good.

Found the data to be incredible so dug a bit. Found this interesting:

Information released from the National Use-of-Force Data Collection in June 2024 reflects data from 72 percent of the law enforcement population participating in the collection.

I have a better idea. How about you demonstrate your mastery of the English language and explain significance of your post. I don't like to play guessing games when it comes to the MAGA mind.

Surprised we have to break this down but here we go:

What agencies make up the 28% who failed to report data? Do you think missing 28% of the data when it comes to crime allows for accurate analysis and then claims?

I can't wait to see Trump talk about the supposed spike in crime in the country, when he's actually contributing to it.

Well I haven't checked that out, but I'm assuming that the 28% is not missing data but simply from another agency? It would have been good to put all of this in your post. I'm interested but not interested enough to go and chase links to check the veracity of your claims.

You'll never see this on RW "media" nor cited by RW pundits, they'll cite and amplify just the opposite. It's contrary to what their audience has been trained to believe and now also demand it! If they don't reinforce the propaganda to their viewers, their viewers will seek that reinforcement elsewhere.

I got it from FBI. Another oddity as well is they've decided change how the calculate the data now as of 2024...... and surprise we have a great news release !

Finally one more interesting tidbit is I for the life of me can't find the total murders in USA by year since like 2020. Having that data and comparing with population would make it easy to verify data. Not saying that data isn't out there, I just can't find it.

For the love of Pete... This has been debunked ad nauseam. Crime is only down because nearly a third of America’s cities are no longer reporting crime statistics to the FBI.

4 Reasons We Should Worry About Missing Crime Data
The FBI’s crime data is still incomplete — and politicians are taking advantage.

You people know nothing about statistics.
They are based on a sample, not the whole population.
The likelihood is that the rest of the data mirrors the same statistics.

Oh really? So if the data omitted the 30 safest cities in USA, you don't think that would change the outcome?

Lmao does anyone else agree with him here? Is this how far all liberals have sunk or just Surfer dude?

We have 28 free carry states and murders are down? Looks like guns aren't the problem.

If that’s the same as previous years, the stats are comparable year-on-year.
If the 30% is missing for only one year, that’s an issue.

    Which is it?

In reality, Trump has just been criminally convicted.

    Do you know the reality?

Here a little word problem for you. If Nancy has 10 apples, but 3 apples are bad... however, 2 of those bad apples you cannot calculate, what percentage are bad apples?

A substantially statistical variance when you remove 2 key factors from your analytical pool.

Isn’t that the typical reporting rate?
Or are you trying to insinuate something else?

Did you think they have ever had 100% reporting?
