I'm ready to hear your argument that the structure of our legislature is illegal.

Someone on the White House staff LEAKED the documents on both Iwanker and her husband to the congressional committee.

All that, decent person and good father, but Barack signed off on US drones going out and killing people, on a weekly basis. So he's all that, and a war criminal.

But he didn't. Too bad for him.

Meh, so he spends a year in Club Fed and applies for early release based on his age and feeble-ness or Dirty Donnie pardons him. Not bad for all the felonies he racked up.

At the very least, it shows how sympathetic Republicans are to financial felons and perjury.
Of course, if you're poor and a minority and you rob a bank, it's LIFE in front of the firing squad !

And they still don't have oversight over the White House. They haven't passed a law to tell Trump to turn over documents and if they did it would be unconstitutional. It's not that complicated. They can always take their case for subpoena to the DOJ or sue in court like they did with the Fast and Furious scandal.

Did the House clear Hillary's illegal hacked server in her basement with hundreds of classified documents on it? Cummings should shut his pie hole if he didn't protest Hillary's eMail server in her basement.

First you say there is no law or it would be unconstitutional.

Then you suggest the oversight committees can sue.

    Weird.

But, I think you're right in that the House Intelligence committee is not likely to walk away just because the White House wants to stonewall.

    That was fully investigated.

But, that's not my real problem with your comment here.

My real problem is that ending the oversight responsibility of our legislature is an incredibly bad idea. There's no way for our legislature to fulfill its duties without the power to investigate.

Your first statement makes no sense so I can't address a non coherent claim since it is incoherent with your previous statement about legislation and laws.

The over sight committee can sue as happened with Fast and Furious, as I previously mentioned.

"U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson on Monday night declined to dismiss a lawsuit filed against Holder by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The suit seeks enforcement of a subpoena over documents related to the Operation Fast and Furious gun running controversy."
    https://legaltimes.typepad.com/blt/...house-oversight-in-fast-and-furious-suit.html

Let them sue. They can throw it in the pile of other meaningless and irrelevant crap they want to whine about and work for years to get to the bottom of it all.

Our federal legislature has abdicated its duties and responsibilities many times, the most egregious example being AUMF. Why do you think it will come to its senses?

It abdicated via going for this venture in the first place! Did you elect your congressperson on the idea that he/she would accomplish nothing?

The first order of business right now is to resist the slide toward dictatorship.

If the US president gets to declare a national emergency when he doesn't like legislation, that is a big step away from the checks and balances put in place by our founders.

Let's remember that the reason the US advises that NO other country uses our model of government is that the president already has too much power.

When we work to establish new governments, we insist that they be parliamentary systems for that reason.

That should be a warning to us concerning this recognized weakness in our form of government. And, that is the weakness that is being exploited by Trump today.

Like Barack did, Donald can thank Dick Cheney for the Unitary Executive.

Crazy Cummings is a real idiot. This clown thinks he can "investigate" Fox News for NOT publishing a story. They quite correctly told him to stuff his info request up his ass. Crazy Cummings clearly does not understand the US Constitution or the rights of Free Citizenry. He's not a Lord and we aren't his subjects.

Most targets in House’s Trump corruption probe haven’t provided docs.

    Obama/Holder Precedent.

So quickly you forget Eric "The With" Holder?
