Of course several of the contenders would be special.

Nah, he likes his fiefdom too much. He won't be leaving NY anytime soon.

You mean, he's committed to his constituents and would not leave them in the lurch, especially considering how difficult will be the times immediately ahead, when leadership will be crucial to New York's recovery.

Oh we already know he thinks they're special, as in underqualified for the short bus.

 

This isn't really my area, but I don't see Cuomo deserting his post, when NY is going to need him most. Besides, he's really not a fan of DC's political world.

If Biden had Trump's flare for casting reality tv, Merrick Garland would get the call-- great storyline, reminiscent of the Clint Eastwood flick, Hang 'Em High.

Though I like Ms. Yates, myself, I'd heard the scuttlebutt is that she will be brought back as the #2, & Doug Jones will be the AG (for whatever that view's worth). I wouldn't bet on it, but at least it makes more sense to give it to someone who just lost a job, than to remove a Democrat from his governorship.
