What an amazing speech by the President today honoring the men that fought and died to end the National Socialist regime of Germany that caused so much harm.

We must never forget evil exist, and any form, National Socialist or whatever it takes must never been allowed to take hold again.

Thank you to men that fought, and thank you Mr President for such an amazing speech honoring them

A month after D-Day my grand pappy was blown to pieces on a munitions vessel.

I have not seen Trump’s speech, but I heard some of it on the radio.

I really don’t care much about speeches.

But I’m very sure that the audience was less than thrilled to see a man who has spent most of the last four years running down the Atlantic Treaty, the western alliance, and NATO.

And less than thrilled to see a man who has promoted facist and neo facist government in Europe and reactionary right wing movements around the world talking about freedom, international leadership and democracy.

Because by deed, this man clearly believes in none of these things.

A week after D-Day my father went over the side at Omaha Beach, He led a group of Stewart tanks and fought in the hedgerows in Normandy.

He would have slapped Trump’s face for the way he has promoted the very same right wing, angry and devisive forces that my dad had to go to war to end.

Just having Bone-Spur Donny giving the speech was an affront to those who fought for this country on D-Day.

I don’t think I can even think of words to agree with you more.

Trump has endorsed the very reactionary extreme right wing forces that created the conditions that led to WWII in the first place.

He has endorsed facist and semi facist governments in Hungary, Poland and Australia. He has endorsed and pandered to racist and ultra nationalist right wing groups in Britain, Italy and France.

And he has built a cult of personality that promotes victim hood and weakness with chest beating jingoism and bigotry.

I heard Eisenhower and Roosevelt in the radio today, as they replayed their remarks (both of which I was already very familiar with).

They talked about freedom, democracy, and the promotion of civilization and western values.

You never hear things like that come out of Trump’s mouth unless it’s delivered in the flat disinterested monotone that usually tells you he’s just now reading what someone else wrote in his “OK now, I’s saying what I’m supposed to say” tone.

Yesterday, he was promoting Nigel Farage. Can you imagine FDR promoting Oswald Moseley???????? (I doubt that any of the Trumpsters even know who that was).

The crowed was thrilled...not a dry eye in the house, not to mentioned the thunderous cheer....and wow...did the affection between the President and the President of France get displayed on such an amazing stage.

So, you might want to re-evaluate where you are getting these silly talking points

Your father knew what National Socialism was, and it's not what is happening by the right wing today

The national socialist movement has grown and become a global socialist movement. They want no borders and national cultures to be removed and replaced with globalist PC culture. That's why they are into destroying history.

The goal is to crush the individual, thus capitalism, and make a collective, with only the party elites benefiting

Capitalism is what has created the "globalization" of all countries. Large multinationals are the driving force behind bringing down national borders. Weird you can't see that.

They want to fundamentally transform America and other nations into global socialist police states run by oligarchs out of Europe.

It was very touching the last couple days watching footage.

Recently re-watched Saving Private Ryan the other afternoon, always wondered just how realistic the opening scene was, since the actual live footage they show on tv show a bunch of guys kind of marching up the beach uninhibited.

Doing business across borders and trade bring nations together and peace. It however doesn’t destroy national borders or sovereignty

Really hasn't happened much in the last 80 years. The economic interests of multinationals has played a far greater role in bringing down national barriers. The EU is not a result of socialism, it is the result of capitalism and the search for greater profits and trade agreements. You can't tell me that is not the case.

The creation of the EU was the result of capitalists getting together for better trade and profit. It had nothing to do with socialism.

Did he mention Bette Midler or Nasty Meghan or Psycho Nancy or Pocahontas or Creepy Joe??

I wouldn't watch a Trump speech on the anniversary of D-Day if it prevented a future war... He's the most unqualified and incapable American ever on those honored shores...

If some Nazi had been hanging out for 75 years in the bushes of Normandy, and jumped out to shoot Trump this morning, nobody other than the Secret Service would try to stop him...

Capitalists in the EU negotiated fewer border controls and a unified monetary system - socialists had nothing to do with that.

I agree with 100% of what Trump does and about 25% of what he says.

His formal speeches are quite good ... better than his tweets and often unnecessary bluster.

    Exactly.

What a tragedy that the USA has to be represented by Trump.

    A Treasonous Draft-Dodging Veteran-Hating POS.

Having somebody like Trump representing the USA is Crapping on the Graves of those Fallen Heroes.

Everyone in the USA should be profoundly ashamed to have been represented by Trump.

    A Treasonous, Veteran-Hatin, Draft-Dodgin', Bone Spurs-Havin' POS.

I hope Trump's Supporters are happy that the USA is a Disgrace because of Trump.

    Donald Trump? :roflol::bored:

Ok, yeah the EU wanted to be more like the United States....the problem though was all the socialist nation that joined the EU, dragging down the less socialist nations, and causing the UK to run

I am not repeating anyone’s talking points.

And the relationship between Trump and Macron hasn’t been too affectionate.

I realize that it’s all image to you Trumpsters, and Fox Noise has been agog over pageantry.

That’s what they usually do in order to give themselves a break from making excuses for your schmuck fuhrer.
