Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones kneels before the national anthem

America continues to reject moral authority by and of President Trump. Trump earned it all by himself.

WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Before the national anthem was played during the Cowboys/Cardinals game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones joined his players and knelt. He also locked arms with them as the anthem was sung by Jordin Sparks.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett joined the protest as did Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones.

 

Remember yesterday when we kept hearing about how Jerry Jones was firmly in the Trump camp and was going to make those uppity players of his respect the flag or be fired?

How embarrassing for Trump and his loyal fan base.

 

WRONG !

They did that BEFORE the Anthem !

 

This was not about the "troops"...it wasn't an act of disrespect of anyone or anything but Trump.

 

You mean embarrassing for you? They did a quick kneel before the flag came out, as a team, then went to the sideline and everyone in the organization stood attention to honor the flag and anthem. Some even got emotional, nice try though.

 

Did you miss the part where they kneeled BEFORE the anthem was played?

 

Symptoms of severe TDS are big misses when it comes to facts and analysis. It can't be avoided.

What Jones and the Cowboys did - kneeling together BEFORE the anthem - was brilliant; a win-win.

There may be hope for the NFL yet.

 

The subject line of his thread and the article all say "before the anthem". That's what the word "before" means.

Next time you should read before embarrassing yourself out of loyalty to Trump.

 

I didn't embarrass myself. I wasn't one of the clowns spreading the now debunked rumor that Jones was going to fire players who didn't stand for the anthem. You're confusing me with your fellow Trump lovers.

Jerry Jones, like all thinking people, rejected your hero's divisive ignorant words from the weekend. Your hero is standing alone now, except for his loyal followers.

Most people agree they should not take a knee on the field. Nobody with half a brain thinks they are "sons of bitches" and deserve to be "fired" for it. Not Jones, not the other owners, and not the people in America who don't live and die and think what the reality TV game show host tells them. You lost. Badly.

On the President’s comments about the players in the NFL:

I made my mind up on this issue that I wasn’t gonna comment other then I’m very proud of the fact that the Dallas Cowboys and our players have always stood for the flag, and stood to the flag and the recognition of the flag. Always.

What is important was to figure out how to do that, and to show the kind of respect, and the perception of respect, how could they basically in front of a national audience show unity and a statement for equality. They wanted to do that, it evolved throughout the organization, particularly over the last two days, and it was executed.

I can’t say enough about the understanding and the awareness of our team and these young men that basically said “you know, that makes sense. There’s no need for us to talk about unity and equality and have 60% of this country mad at you because you’re not perceived to be honoring the flag.” And this was a way to do both.

 

BS. The blood, sweat, and tears shed over the last 240+ years by our military that are represented by that flag are infinitely more important than anything Trump has said or done. That would be like if you were a Catholic, and you don't like something a bishop said, you decided to piss on the cross. The symbol is far greater than the actions of any one man.
